One day might night be enough. We were to fly SW from PHL on Saturday around 1 PM, they could not accommodate us until 6 AM Monday morning. We are not cruising until next week.

I was coming into BWI. Several of the previous flights had been cancelled. There were over 150 people on standby. If our flight hadn't made it out they were saying we might not get back to Baltimore until Tuesday.

Not DCL related but in the same topic-We were recently on a flight to FLL, the flight was supposed to land in FLL at 3:00pm. Due to weather, our flight was delayed and we didn't land until about 4:45. The flight attendant got on the overhead and announced that someone had to make it to the port by 5pm and if we would allow them to exit the plane first once permitted.

Talk about cutting it close!!!

I always go with the, I want to be able to fly or drive within a day. So a day is technically enough so long as you are willing to hop in a rental car and go for it and can get there within 24 hours.

No matter what! I am never flying same day of cruise again. Flight Delayed, then cancelled, then on again then delayed. It was so much stress that it was a good thing we were on a 14 night cruise so that I could loose all that tension!

We were affected by this glitch ("flypocalypse"). On Saturday August 15 we were scheduled to depart Indianapolis at 3:20pm and arrive in Orlando at 5:35pm. When we checked in for our flight we were told there was a schedule change and now we'd be departing at 7:50pm ..... then that changed to 8:50pm ..... then that changed to cancelled. UGH! The only options with Southwest wouldn't get us to Orlando until Sunday night or Monday so we bought airfare to Orlando on Delta. That flight left at 6:00am the next morning and got us to Orlando at 10:18am.

It worked out OK because we were just going to stay at the Orlando Hyatt Saturday night anyway and check in at the Poly Sunday morning. But it was super stressful and we incurred extra expenses. Southwest did refund us for the cancelled flight and EBCI fees but that only covered 1/2 of the airfare we paid on Delta to get to Orlando. And we had to pay baggage fees on Delta.
