DH and I will be using DME on Wednesday and we will not have our yellow tags before we leave. The CM that I spoke to said to take our claim checks to the DME counter and they will pull our luggage for us. Has anyone done this or should we just go get our luggage ourselves? Thank you for your opinions.

Yes, people have done it with great success. Of course, you are welcome to pick up your own luggage and bring it to the bus with you; remembering, of course, to tip anybody who handles your luggage between the carousel and your room. If you let DME do its magic, Disney covers the tips.

Another suggestion I have read it to "make" yellow tags for your bags, so that they are easy to spot by DME. Write your hotel (in bold), your name and reservation number. If you do that AND take your claim tickets to check in as you mentioned, I'm sure your bags will be fine.

One thing to keep in mind, without the yellow tags, it's possible that your luggage transfer might take slightly longer than if you did have the tags. If you don't need your luggage right away, then by all means let DME take care of it for you.

However, if you do think you will need your luggage right away, you might want to claim it yourself.

My family did not have theirs when we went in June & they just went & got it & took it to DME. I have to say that MCO gets luggage off the plane pretty quick.
