Is it possible to use DME back to Orlando airport even though you won't be flying out of there? I will be renting a car and joining friends to travel elsewhere in florida. I am flying in, and staying at a WDW resort so that should be no problem. Thanks in advance for any info. I guess I am just cheap and don't want to take a cab! Gail PS If not, are rental cars available on property? I am staying at Port Orleans Riverside. 54 days and counting!!!

Yes. Make your reservation at least a day in advance of checking out. Name a flight, any flight, any airline, with a departure time three hours after you want to leave Disney.

National and Alamo rental cars are available near the "car care center" just beyond walking distance of Magic Kingdom and for which you can arrange a free shuttle from your resort. There are also cars available at either Swan or Dolphin. You will probably find a rental at WDW more convenient.

In addition to Alamo and National on-site, other companies such as Hertz have facilities just outside of WDW. They provide complimentary pickup on-site.

So if you have access to a better rate from a company other that Alamo and National (or you just like another company better), that's another option.
