Another Disney Store validation....

Yeah, Gwinnett Place and Foley, AL.

BUT...Town Center, Discover Mills, and the MOG are still on there as well as Pigeon Forge.

I didn't even KNOW TC or DM had a Disney Store. When did DM put a Disney store in there? That mall is so dead. I can't imagine it having a Disney store.

They are both on the Staying list!

Thanks so much! Marlborough is near me, and Bridgewater is near Grammy. Both of them are totally decked out with Disney characters hanging from the rafters, so I would have been surprised to see them go.

I see you are also in MA. Do you go to South Shore Plaza?

They opened the Discover Mill's store in January. It was delayed from it's original intended opening date of early November.

I wonder what's going to happen to all of those CM's in the stores being closed. There are a couple of really great folks that work at Gwinnett Place. :sad1:

well thankfully our Mall isnt a Simon so maybe it is safe?

Not sure where the Simon rumor came from, but there are plenty of stores that got "acquired" by Disney that are in a Simon Mall. The list tells you who owns the mall.

That's a good job doing all of this extra work. I have the list on my computer here. I saw it last week. I'm sure this will help everyone know.

I'm confused. So, the "remaining" stores are the stores that are closing? My store is in Fayette Mall in Lexington, KY. It's not on the list, so that means it is not closing, right?

Yes the list that is here are the remaining stores, which means that they are NOT moving back to the Walt Disney Company. The remaining stores are the ones that will close. If your store is not on the above list, happily they are staying open and going back to being Disney owned.

This means our store at Broadway at the Beach is closing? :( This is the only store that sells Disney movies right now. It's confusing. A lot of stores at different Tanger Outlets are closing, but the one at the Tanger in Myrtle Beach is not. Someone must have done a lot of investigation as to which stores were making money and which ones were not, because that's the only rhyme or reason I can figure with the different stores.

On another note, I'm still trying to find a shirt that was sold by the Disney store for my son, he wants to get the one Corbin Bleu wears in HSMusical II: "I majored in Vacation" Sadly, I can't find it anymore. . .

I shop at the South Shore Plaza.:goodvibes Hopefully it will be staying, it's been around a long time. I worked there for 5 years, but when DS9 came along, it was too hard to fit into my schedule.

Don't you have a Walmart, Target or any store like that near you? They always sell the Dsiney movies and much cheaper than the Disney store usually.

I do, but for some reason there are times I can find movies at that disney store that I can't at the Walmart. And I avoid going to Walmart if I can. Target is just a place I never shop. I probably should just order off of Itunes.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but just wondering if anyone knows what the status is of Canadian Disney Stores?

The Canadian stores on the list too. Just not on this thread. Go to the link posted in one of the earlier posts, and you will see the Canadian stores in the documents.

That came from my OP, I'm sure and was probably misunderstood(I stink at explaining things). The Asst. Mgr. I talked to last night said he was told that there were no Simon Malls listed for Indianapolis on the "acquired stores" list(or something to that effect). All of our Indy stores are Simon. He had not seen the list and this was all he could tell me. I suppose I wasn't very clear in what I said and details ALWAYS escape my memory, so this is what I had in my mind. So Sorry for any confusion...All this info was new to me also, and he was sort of talking fast so I know I didn't catch all that he said.:upsidedow

I believe that one is closing if it's Williamsburg Outlet. Some outlets (especially the older ones that use to be the catalog outlets) will go back to Disney. Most of the stores in my area are closed now (and we use to have about 20). Did see the remaining stores in my area are closing. The only stores left close to me, which are not closing, are Dulles Town Center, Tysons Corner, and Colombia Mall. There is a legal document on the web that has a list of all the stores they are keeping and the ones they are closing. Not sure where the link is now but saw it a couple of weeks ago.

How can it be closing when it hasn't even opened yet?! I was there yesterday and they were building shelves and laying carpet.

wow I really thought I spent enough money at the Omaha (Oakview NE) store to keep it in business.... that store is the only Disney store even close to where I live I'll be so sad to see it close.
