Another Disney Quest Question

We are going in December.

We have every day full except for one. The one free day we have is the same day we are going to MVMCP. Plus we are hoping to get PS at LTT before MVMCP.

My son really wants to go to Disney Quest, but I see it doesn't open until 11:30am. That seems late to me.

We are staying at Port Orleans French. We are only using Disney busses as transportation.

Do you think we will have quality time to spend at Disney Quest? Considering it will cost us almost $100 to be there, I'm wondering if that is worth it for the amount of time we have to spend there.
With bus travel, getting ready for MVMCP, and eating before at LTT, do you think we'll have enough good time at Disney Quest to justify the cost?

I'm really debating this one. If Disney Quest opened sooner then I"d do it, but I'd hate to spend $100 for us to go and only get to do 2 things plus wait in line.

From what I've read you can get into MK anytime after 4pm on MVMCP day so I probably would not do DQ that day. If you plan to wait til closer to 6pm to hit LTT then perhaps it would be worth it. We've only been to DQ once before and it was summer (read - crowded). The kids probably played 5 or 6 games total in about 4 hrs. I didn't think it was all that great but then I'm not a video game person. The kids, however, remember it being awesome and can't wait to go again!

I don't think your kids will want to leave after only 4 hours (although I think you will). My DS (11 yr. old) wanted to stay for long periods of time. I do know that the earlier you get there, the less wait time you will have for the best interactive rides. This is a good site to look at all of the things they have to do at DQ.

It tells what there is to do and what floor they are on. **The Pirates, Cyber Space Mt., Virtual Jungle Cruise, Astroblaster, Ride the Comix, Mighty Duck's Pinball, and Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride were the most crowded. I would do the Pirates first! My son loved all of these, but liked the Cyber Sp. Mt. the best.

This past year we went to DQ before MVMCP. For us this worked very well. DQ was my DS8 special request. We arrived at opening (no lines at all- did all the must sees before lunch, then returned to favorites). We left at 4:00 to arrive at MK by 5:30. We drove ourselves then took the monorail from the Poly. The amount of time in DQ was perfect for me- I was really getting blurry-eyed! We debated doing the LTT dinner and ended up getting food which we ate waiting for the first parade. Since this was our boys first time ever in MK (or anywhere else in WDW) we didn't want to spend lots of time in a restaurant. We ended up doing LTT during our MK day later in the week. Arriving at MK and being able to tour Tomorrowland between 6-7 was awesome as well- Space Mountain and Buzz complete walk-ons (did 2x each!) and Astro Orbiter before Mickey's Night Before Christmas show. We also could not have done those if we were in LTT.
So- we had plenty of time in DQ before the show, my DS was psyched he got to go, and MVMCP was not rushed for us getting there. We did this the first Sunday/ first MVMCP in 2003.

If you plan to stay late at MVMCP, and spend several hours at DQ, will your kids hold up for the time? Or will they get cranky and tired? Will YOU get cranky and tired?

You will probably spend about $150 for MVMCP and then another $100 for DQ. Is it that important to do both on the same day?

If you stay up late for MVMCP, how about going to DQ the next day and sleep in a bit?

I guess we won't be going to DQ then. I wish it opened earlier.

We arrive on a Saturday early afternoon. I was told to stay away from DTD and DQ on Sat. We have PS at Contemp that evening.

Sunday we plan to go to MK.

Monday we go to AK.

Tuesday is the day we plan to go to MVMCP with LTT beforehand. We don't want to use passes this day.

Wed we plan to do Epcot.

Thursday we plan to do MK in the morning. We have PS already for Fantasmic.

Friday we plan to do MGM.

Saturday our plane leaves around noon.

7 nights seemed like a long time before we started planning, but now I realize that we won't be able to do it all.

I guess we'll just have to plan another trip to Disney.. even though we still have to wait until this Dec. for this trip.

We are planning to do DisneyQuest after Animal Kingdom during our trip in March. We have been to WDW twice, and neither time did we spend an entire day at Animal Kingdom. We like the park, and there are several "must do's" ... but we can usually leave the park by 1:00 - plenty of time to head over to DisneyQuest for a full afternoon of fun! Maybe you could still make it to DQ if you go after your morning at Animal Kingdom! My kids are really looking forward to DQ since we've never been there before!

KimEadler is right if you really want to do Disney Quest this would be the day. AK closes around 5 or 6 and DQ is open to 11. My kids love DQ and won't miss it on any trip. I don't really like video games but I enjoy DQ. Even if you stay in in the park till closing this should give you enough time to enjoy DQ. Gina

I'll second going to DQ on that Monday after AK but you really don't even have to rush AK. Since DQ is open til 11pm and the following day is your MVMCP, you can stay out late and then sleep in Tuesday so you're plenty rested for the party that night. Depending on the age of your son and who else may be in your party, you may even be able to get in some shopping at DD while he is in DQ!

If you have never gone to AK you might be there the whole day- we were the last car out of the lot! That said, DQ is visually stimulating, but not exausting to walk through. You can get dinner there- the sandwiches are HUGE!! My DS8 had to go and it was a highlight of his trip. What are the ages of your travellers?
I have a MVMCP question for you. We went last December on a non-park day to save our hoppers. Our guys only lasted past the fireworks, and the next morning had a sleep in. We did Epcot then as a very non-commando, laid back- expolre Future World West day. Only stayed 'till 3- returned to MK for Spectro that night. I noticed you were doing Epcot the day after MVMCP and that day only. Is that 'cause there is little you want to do there? We also did Epcot later in the week on its EMH day. Couldn't have lasted the whole day after MVMCP or woken up for opening either.
Second advice- we went to see Fantasmic on the Friday of our trip- first Friday in Dec. We did not do the FDP-bought food on the way in (at Rosie's by TOT) and ate in our seats. Sat down in the center cection (Mickey) at 6:15- Fantasmic was at 7 that night. People were getting seated up to show time. Sit down meals ran our family at least $40+ more than counter. Really not necessary this time of year to get into Fantasmic. I'm planning on the same plan when we return in 2005.

AK has never taken us all day, and will take you even less time if you are touring early in December (anything but Christmas break). All of the parks close early during early December, but the crowds are at their lowest. We have done DQ on a couple of days of our trip after park closing before, and spent a few hours there after dinner each time. We had length of stay passes, so this was possible for us.
