My boyfriend who lives in Olrando and goes to UCF just called me and said that a man just died from a heart attack at Disney. I don't know anything else about it. If anyone else hears anything, please post! Thanks in advance!

We were there just 2 weeks ago at the AKL and a man died of a heart attack there. I felt so sorry for his wife and young children and my heart and prayers go out to them.

Maybe that was it. :confused3 My boyfriend said the news made it sound like it JUST happened, but you know how late they can be on things. Thats so sad that he died on a family vacation, but if any good can be found in it, it is that he was surrounded by his family and in the happiest place on Earth! :flower3:

What's the deal? Have the DISboards turned into Disney deathwatch?!?

Sorry. I was just reporting what I heard and asking for conformation. It just seems like there have been a rash of deaths and injuries (obviously none of them Disney's fault). I am just wondering if there has been an actual spike in all of this or have they just been focused on by the media more.

Death, disaster...it is kind of morbid, IMO. :scared1: Why anyone needs to know about a non-family member's death is beyond me.

OK, I did NOT expect to get flamed for this. I was JUST wondering. Why are some people so vicious on the boards sometimes?

I am sorry for trying to find out more. :sad2:

What I do not understand is why someone opens a thread just to knock down the OP reporting something.

I for one like to hear about the things that take place at WDW be it good or bad.

The dis is were I get most of my info about WDW.

Thank you dis and the people who report all their information!!!!!!

Calm down, you're not getting flamed. It's just a reaction to all of the death posts lately. I guess I am just getting tired of hearing about them. Didn't mean to upset you. ::MickeyMo

Its okay. I just have gotten flamed on these boards for nothing. I try so hard to respect other people and not step on toes. I understand that you may be tired of hearing about bad stuff that happens there, but some people want to know whats going on. Its in my blood. I am a Crime Scener. Its just curiosirty and sorrow for the family/friends. :flower3:

Ditto. It is kind of creepy around here lately with every bad thing that happens in orlando or Disney reported. I apologize.

Accepted. I guess I am sensitive, but I was just trying to find out more and I didn't think people would get upset by it. I just wanted to know more information. We don't get that news around here like they do in Orlando.

I avoid the news for just that reason, but haven't been able to escape to the Dis recently! I would hate it if a family member were a topic of discussion due to the circumstances of their death. My issue. Again I apologize.

I understand. I wouldn't want that either, but people here are just curious. We are not going to be mean or trivialize the injury or death of someone. Believe me, I know the value of life and its not something I take lightly.

I came in this thread earlier this morning, right after your first comment, and was gonna be snarky to ya....glad I didn't, cuz now I come back and see you've apologized all over the place. :p :teeth: Amazing how a little coffee improves the mood, huh? :goodvibes

We just returned from a stay at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. There was an older woman in the room next to us that we saw a few times in the hallway. Sadly on the 3rd say of our trip, she passed away in her room. On a cruise last year a young man at our table was air lifted to a hospital in the middle of the night. Again, we did not know what had happened to him, but very sad. A few years ago, a friend passed away from a heart attack while swimming with his son at Grand Cayman. It is just tragic.
If we were not in the room next to the woman in Vegas, or notice the couple missing at our table, we never would have known about it. In popular vacation destinations which attract large amounts of people, like cruises, Vegas, Disney etc...these things happen all the time and everyday. It is very sad indeed, but is not the fault of Disney or hotel or cruise. It is just something that happens...people die and there is no rhyme or reason to it.

It is such a terribly tragic thing to happen to any family or anyone.
