Another Change To The Booking Window Past 1/25

Hello,

Thought I'd pass along the latest on the new Dining Reseravtions System. I don't have all the info yet but it seems that now the new system "Scheduled Events" won't be ready until late November instead of late October as originally thought. It also seems that they will be opening up the old system to accept bookings though Februaury 22nd. This will happen after August 30th. As of right now you can only book through January 25th in the old system. (With the exception of CRT, CM & V&A) Hope this is helpful to those of you with Feb. trips planned.

I was all relaxed about having to make our ADRs (well IPO will) on Dec 3rd and now I'm getting worried that it'll still be down when we need to make ours and I feel even worse for everyone else that its affecting now.

I just called WDW-DIne to confirm this and the CM told me that bookings would not be opened up until November (she told me she was told this today) and that we will have to wait until November to make ADRs for our Feb trip.

Take what the CM's say with a grain of salt. Most of the time DIS'ers know a lot more than the average CM making ADR's.

I will try calling after Aug. 30th to make my Jan. ADR's. If it doesn't work then I guess I'll have to wait till Nov. I hope I don't have to wait that long! Thanks OP for the update!

From the new rumors it looks like November for March 2009 and August 31(ish) for those going in February 2009.

To be safe, I'd call at the end of August for your trip - better safe than sorry.

You should be able to make any & all of your February reservations either on or after August 30th. (Not sure if you can do it August 30 or the day after) The new booking window that has opened will allow bookings through February 22nd. Everything after that will have to wait until November. I'll keep you posted here on DIS if I hear more.

Hate to say it but not all dine CM's keep up on what's going on. This information is new as of Tuesday and if the CM you spoke to hasn't worked since then or didn't bother to read updated messages they wouldn't be aware of the change. If you get a CM who tells you something different, ask that they check because you were told you can book through 2-22 after August 30th. If you have no success, hang up and call back to get a different CM.

You know you don't have to reply to a thread to subscribe to it, right? Just go to the top of the thread, just above the first post on the page where it says "Thread Tools". Click it, a menu will pull down, and choose "Subscribe to Thread" (or something like that). That way, "subbing" posts don't need to be posted - and it is quicker than doing even a Quick Reply.

That is true. I have found that every dine CD has different information. Thge only safe way to know is to call on august 30 and tell the CM to try doing the ADR even if he say that he can´t. Thats the way they know of changes .

I called twice last week and none of the CM knew that the window for CRT and Chef Mickeys was already open until I told them to try to make the ADR.

See if this helps...Beginning November 21, 2008, the launch of a more robust reservation system for dining, recreation and tour bookings will replace the current Dining Reservation System. With the launch of the new booking system, reservations for dining, recreation, and tours may be conveniently secured during one interaction instead of the multiple transactions required today. This supports our commitment to leverage technology to enhance the overall Guest experience. The upgrade to the new system begins July 21, 2008, with minimal impact expected to the booking window. As the application upgrade occurs, the latest reservation date Guests are able to secure with the current systems is February 22, 2009. Once the upgrade is completed the booking window will expand back to the normal 180 days.

I want to make ADR's for Chef Mickey's this weekend.. 180 days from the 1st night stay is Sunday 8/30, but I the day I want Chef Mickey's ADR for is for later during our stay. So is the 180 days counted from the dining day you want or from your arrival day??

If you are staying at a WDW resort and have your resort reservation number you can make ADR's 180 days from the day you check in. As a courtesy Disney will allow you to book the next 10 days of your stay as well. So call on your 180 day from check in and you can make up to 10 days worth or ADR's.
