Ok, now that I've decided on a digital camera (pretty sure the Kodak DX7630...6.1MP,) I need advice on what SD card to purchase.

Any advice on brand name? I'm thinking I want at least a 512 MB or maybe even a 1 GB. Has anyone ever had one go bad and corrupt their files? I'd HATE to think I'd have 300 or so WDW pics and then LOSE them all due to a bad card!!!!

Advice is much appreciated. Thanks for being so patient in my endeavor to "capture the moment!"

I don't think brand really matters - I had a 256 and a 128 and they held 300 and 170 respectively - that worked quite well for us - we went to Walmart about halfway through our trip and had them burned to a CD.

I have had a card (not SD) go bad on me, so I think I'd be happier with a couple of small ones rather than one massive one - also they would take a long time to process at Walmart - the 256 one took a while (it wasn't a problem, but it took a while to copy up to their pc)

I've read that the SanDisk SD cards tend to have alot of problems. And sure enough, when at Disney in April, my almost new SanDisk card died on me! Thank goodness I had others to fall back on, but it sure was a pain.

Another tidbit of information...if you develop photos at Walmart, some stores will only print 100 photos on a cd. So, if you get the bigger disk, it's harder picking & choosing which ones to save, or you have to buy more than 1 cd!

I would suggest not gettting one large card. The card could fail or you could just lose the card. Then you would have lost a lot of images. I would suggest 2-3 smaller cards.
