We will be in Dis for my DS 4th birthday and my DD 6th birthday. Since we will be there for their actual days we'd like to make it real special. We will be going to Chef Mickey's for my DS b'day and Whispering Canyon and then the MNSSHP for my DD birthday since she is a Halloween baby. We'd like to get a cake for both of them. When I called a Dis CM told me it was $12.50 for a 6" non-specific cake and $40.00 for one with a character on it. I'd rather not pay the $40 since we'll be eating a big meal just before. Has anyone ever purchased a Disney figurine and asked them to put it on the cake? I want the cake to be special for the kids, but don't want it to cost a fortune. What do the Mickey cakes from Boardwalk Bakery look like? Is it the shape of Mickey or just a picture? How much are those? Do they do other characters?
Thanks

I'll bump it up for some answers. :)

Especially since you are doing one at chef mickey's. I would almost bet they would have the characters bring it over.

and at Whispering Canyon I can only imagine what they might do! LOL

I say go for the regular cake, you're going to be surrounded by wonderful magical experiences, put that extra money toward a special gift they get to pick out for themselves!

Have a wonderful time!

Unless things have changed, the figuring is made of chocolate and can be wrapped and taken with you.

They might be able to add your figuring, but also might not--citing policy on serving "outside" food. Best thing is to call and ask.

We have always purchased a figurine for the top of the cake either before we leave home or while we are at the World. When we check in at the seating desk, we ask them to have our server put it on the plain cake we ordered. They always have done this cheerfully. Of course it is always some Disney character. I couldn't say what they would do if it was say... Sponge Bob?

Hope this helps :D

Thanks PoohBear. Oh course, we'd never have anything but a Dis Character. They are going to have such a wonderful time. I'm so glad we are going to be there on the actual days.

Pooh Bear. Where have you gotten your Dis figurines before you left for your trip. We will be arriving around lunch time on my sons b'day. I could probably get something from the hotel gift shop before we had over to Chef Mickey's, but I'd like to know that I have it and don't have to run around.
