Another, and another

Jules, my dad said that it's supposed to get real nasty out that way. He lives in Harpers Ferry, so not far from you at all. I'm so sick of snow.. I'm ready for spring here!! I kinda hope we get hit hard tonight so DH doesn't have to work tomorrow, then as long as I can make it to my doc appt on the 10th I'm happy. I don't have to go anywhere this weekend!

Definately taking my laptop home tonight just in case. Last Thursday morning we got caught in an ice/snow storm (not much snow), but there were so many accidents (including DD17 who was going to school in a friends car and it slid into a ditch). Almost all the roads around us were closed and from about 7am-10:30am our entire area was in a grid lock. My work (1/2 hour away) got nothing - go figure!

:scared1::scared1: I hope your daughter is okay!

I hear you.

Last year, here in Iowa, we had a snowstorm every 3 days, leaving an average of 3 to 4 inches each time.

And this year, we have already broken the record for the most consecutive days with more than 4 inches of snow on the ground. Weather forecasters are warning about catastrophic flooding again this spring, if it keeps up.

Our kids will be on their 3rd snow day this week, tomorrow. This weekend's storm has me worried about next week!! These kids need to go back!!

You know, I really just wish the snow would come during the week. I want a government shut down (i.e., free day off). I use my weekends to run all my errands because I work all week. Last Saturday I was stuck in the house all day and had to do everything on Sunday. Looks like the same scenario this weekend.

I agree! It seems the snow comes during the weekend or on holidays.

My coworker told me we have to wear our pj's inside out and backward to guarantee snow.

According to this website

http://www.footsforecast.org

which is usually pretty accurate, the I-95 corridor will be *slammed* with snow this weekend.

Oh I love the snow, and I'd love to get that much again, but we are supposed to drive to Williamsburg this Sunday to take my little guy to Great Wolf for his birthday!!! We were also supposed to take him and his friends to the National Zoo on Sat.
Oh well at least with the four wheel drive we should be able to make it out to get to great wolf. I hope!

Yep, looks like its coming for sure now. Weather channel said atleast 1 foot EASILY! It is supposed to start early Friday afternoon.

Christine, I'm with you! Although, the December storm they did close Ft. Detrick so I got a free day then and today we had a 2 hour delay.

I like the week day storms if they are enough to shut down work, but other than that I'm happy with a weekend storm.

You guys must have stolen all our snow! I can see quite a bit of bear ground out my window. :goodvibes

Completely bare ground here in the southern part of Ohio.

All the snow storms have passed north or south [which really weird to hear my ILs in southern KY have more snow then us]. I think the most we got at one time was 1 inch.

I think this one will miss us with the heavy stuff again.

My kids are kinda sad. No snowman at all this year.

Well, guess we get to make a run to the commissary tomorrow to grocery shop and see if they have a snow shovel. It is tempting to just have a neighbor kid shovel the walk and pay them 10 bucks, lol. I'm glad we got cable installed yesterday, so now I can watch TV!

I did all of my major grocery shopping over the weekend, but I want to pick up some extra water and bread and with it looking like we may be snowed in for days, I am definitely going to need some extra munchies in the house for DH and DS! After that, I plan on having a big movie fest this weekend and just enjoying the white stuff:cool1:

Me and you both! I went last night so I could avoid the rush. I got:

Milk - only had enough for today's lunches anyway
Bread - was down to less than 1/2 gallon
Hot chocolate
Ice Cream
Firewood

I think we have enough munchies. We just spent $300 at Sams and Giant Eagle last weekend so we should be good to go for the weekend.

I usually do my big grocery shopping on Sat. but I'm going to do it today. I have to beat the rush because everyone else will be going tomorrow night! :lmao:

Actually, I do have enough milk but need bread and other regular groceries. Having a 13 yo in the house means we go through food pretty quickly here.

I'm in Hagerstown and we're supposed to fly to WDW out of BWI on Wednesday morning. I don't mind if it snows this weekend, but I'd better be able to get to Bmore on Tuesday night (we're spending the night in a hotel because our flight is at 6:50AM Wed.) :scared:

So has anyone heard any news on what they are expecting besides "significant." I want numbers!!!!

I am home teleworking today due to the 5 inches we got this morning. In all honesty, I think I could have easily made it in because our roads were very clear but I had brought home tons of work to do.

So, on my lunch hour I decided to go the grocery store to get ready for this weekend's storm. I usually do my major shopping on Sunday; however, by Friday and Saturday I am pretty much out of any substantial food. I really didn't know what to get some I just picked up some lunchmeat, some sandwich thins, yogurt, a package of chicken breasts, ice cream, a few frozen pizzas for lunch. I really didn't know what to get considering I'm will be OUT of dinner meals by Friday, the carryouts will most likely be closed on Saturday and possibly most of Sunday. Grrrrrr....I just like to have good food when I'm stuck in the house.

I can't find any more info. than what they've been saying. In any case, I'll hit the grocery store tom. morning. I shop over the weekend but I don't want to chance it. Today turned out very nice. I was very surprised our schools only had a 2 hr. delay but with the way the sun is shining it's melting everything away.

Our schools were closed. We were supposed to have a very sunny day also, but we only had about an hour of sun at about 10:00 and now it's gone. It's been VERY gray most of the day. Hard to believe there's such a difference within the same general area.

I'm hearing about 13 inches for Baltimore, so we'll see.. they're being conservative on the estimates right now.

DH had delayed start for work today, he works over next to Ft Meade, and they were operating on code yellow. He went in at 11 and will be home around 5 or so. If we get 3 feet of snow this weekend (they're saying it's possible) then I doubt he'd have work on Monday. I HAVE to get down to Bethesda on Wednesday though...
