Contact your local Chamber of Commerce. They will have listings of marketing professionals. Call three. Sit down with all of them. They will ask questions, discuss budget, and offer a proposal. You probably want a company that can do both advertising and marketing. After you've met with them and reviewed their proposals, you'll have a much better idea of who you think you could work best with. I do marketing for clients (and can do advertising, but don't do much of that). One of my clients hires someone else to do their advertising, and frankly, it would be much easier to be able to coordinate both for this small client (and cheaper to the client). You'll also want to look at bridal fairs, bridal supplements in newspapers, local business fairs, which are often held at area high schools and put on by the chambers. Once you've started to build a customer base locally, you can start to look at expanding your target. Even though you're an online business, I think that by starting locally you can build a solid client base. Good luck! It's never easy starting a business, and you'll need to work hard to find the best marketing/public relations/advertising resources you can.
