Anyone going this year? Think I'll have to skip it since I can't get decent fares to Colorado in March. Sure bet it will be a heated one!

Just wondering where you located the information regarding the shareholders meeting? I have been checking the Disney investors web site for info. Do you have the date of the meeting?

Thanks

The Disney website has the date, but no location.

Is Colorado verified?

It makes sense, given the desire to keep all the annoying little shareholders away.

Sorry, date is March 19th.

The next earnings call is Thursday, 1/30.

I can't wait to hear the spin on why they chose Colorado. It's always good for a laugh if anything, knowing full well the real reason why they stage these meetings far away from the average investor.

I've never been sent anything about any website or this meeting. Where do I get any of this information at? Do I need to contact my broker to get it?

Since Disney is so cheep, they'll have the stock holders meeting and a press confrence announcing Disney's Colorado Adventure! :jester:

Im sure the spin will be that this is centrally located so all the stockholders can visit easily!!!!
Now what is your spin guess????

I found out originally yesterday from my stockbroker... he called Disney directly and got "loud". We had called last week and they said they couldn't give out that information. In the past they always listed it on the website in November, around Thanksgiving. I'm sure they want as few stockholders as possible to attend this year ... hence the reason they listed it so late. This year I won't be able to go. The cheapest airfare I could find (unless I want to stay over a Saturday night) is over $600 roundtrip. In the past, I've been able to fly to the annual meeting, stay one night and come home for around $200-$250 roundtrip. And I believe in the past the meetings have always been on Tuesdays. Now it being on a Wednesday makes it even harder to take off work. At least on Tuesdays, if I really wanted to go, I could go Saturday afternoon (to get the airfare cheaper) and fly back after the meeting on Tuesday. Heck, now I'd have to make it a vacation .... well there is always good skiing nearby. I'm sure that's why they decided on Denver and on Wednesday ... so all their stockholders could make attendance at the meeting a big skiing vacation as well. Right.

That's right Tina. They're making it as difficult as possible for investors like yourself not to voice your opinion by making it as difficult as possible for anyone to attend. Who in their right minds is going to pay over $600 on airfare to attend a conference meeting? You could buy a lot of shares with that kind of money. The economics just don't add up.

Unless things have changed in the Denver airport in the last few years, the reason the flights are so high is because United pretty much controlled the market there.
I use to book flights for travelers. Denver was always high. For what it cost to fly a few states away into Denver, most people could have flown to Hawaii cheaper.

How disappointing, I was hoping for Barrow Alaska. Understand they have a fantastic restaurant there. Also have a great light show Disney could use.
