Ok, if yu get a MYW package from disney you can add on the dining plan, which gives you one table service and one counter service meal per day. Can you still purchase the dining plan if you are an annual passholder? the dining plan saves you a ton of money if you are going to do sit down meals, and i wanted to use it. i was also thinking about getting an annual pass, but i dont wanna lose the ability to get the dning plan.... does anyone know how this works?

No, you cannot get the dining plan if you are using an annual pass. You have to book a room plus a ticket. This can be a one day ticket which you can save for another time and use your annual pass instead. But, you do have to purchase a ticket with your package in order to purchase the dining. Depending how long you are going for, it may be worth doing this even if you have an annual pass since a one day ticket is about $60.

What we did is book a 1 day MYW ticket (3 of them) with our package and when we got to the first park (for us EPCOT), went to Guest Services and upgraded our 1 day passes to PAP's. It worked fine and we were able to get the free dining during the promotion in August because of it!! That way we got the best of both worlds the MYW package with dining and the PAP's which we can use next year!

Are you really going to do more than one sit down meal per day? Your one with the food PAckage takes care of 1, and the DDE is a 20% discount (after you have to pay $50 for it) so you would have to spend another $250 on dinning at DDE restaurants just to break even. Only reason I think you might need it is if you are going with a large group and are planning on doing a lot of sit down meals (and using your counter service for breakfast). But I do have one...and I like it, espically since I can not get dining packages due to DVC. I would look at the places you are planning on dining and if you will reall need this...but it is good for 1 year so perhaps you could use it on a second trip.

Actually the break-even point for DDE is $234.74 because the sales tax is also adjusted. And it includes alcoholic beverages as well as the counter service in AK and the value resorts.
