I live close, (tampa). I like to make 2 reservations at a time, and leave the 3rd open for any last minute trips if theres availability. Recently there has been 1 or 2 times where I made a reservation and was either sick that morning(not covid related), or something beyond my control came up and I couldn't make it. That brings me to this question. I have a reservation for tomorrow at Epcot, I really want to go, but I'm not sure I will actually end up going. If I wake up and feel good I want to go, but if I wake up and I'm hurting, etc I would want to skip it, but then I feel bad, esp if theres someone who's SURE they are going and can't get a reservation. On the flip side, what if someone just makes the reservation and doesn't go at all either? How do you guys feel about this?

Off topic kinda is there an annual passholder forum? I'm still a little confused on where to post different questions and stuff. Anyone wanna give me a really quick brief overview? lol I post on reddit often, but I seem a little out of place here at the moment, and would LOVE to be more involved!

I think you probably wanted to post this in the theme parks and attractions board but not positive on that one either haha. To your original question I feel they are your reservations to be used as you like. You pay the same for your AP as anyone else so don’t feel bad, we all have the same opportunities to book those days, right? I’m an out of state AP so my days are planned well in advance and usually linked to resort reservations so maybe I have a skewed view of things... but I feel like we all have the same opportunities in the long run. For example I have October 1 held at MK which limits my other options, but that’s my choice to hold that day and limit myself to 2 other days. If you wake up and don’t think you will use the reservation I would cancel as soon as you can.... someone else can and will pick up that reservation, if they use it great, if they don’t then it limits crowds for those who are there :)

Thank-you! I honestly felt bad b/c I keep seeing a lot of posts on reddit like oh I didn't know I needed a reservation, and now I have a hotel and can't go to a park, or I saw a few APs who said they were from out of town and only here certain days and they were already full. I wouldn't have posted this a few months ago when availability was always open. With the exception of a few days at DHS, I could wake up any day and make a reservation and just go. It doesn't seem to be that way anymore, at least for March/April.. I dont know how May will look. I usually know around 1pm if I'm gonna go or not, and it's only happened 1-2x where I was like I just can't do it today. Then I cancel it, but I know by that time people coming from another state, etc aren't gonna care the day of.. LOL I also can't believe how many people down voted me on reddit for asking this question. LOL

Unfortunately right now it’s not possible to just decide day of you want to go to a park. I‘m thinking these APs that are complaining should have planned ahead. The one problem I can see some having right now is being from out of state, staying off site, and only being able to visit the parks for 3 days.... I can almost understand being upset there.... but is this really the end of the world or a reason to feel your vacation is ruined? In my opinion no, it’s a first world problem and one we are lucky to have. We are less than 3 weeks from a trip right now and made our park reservation months ago, friends we are going with just bought tix last week and got reservations before some parks started disappearing. And I have another friend who is localish, hasn’t got tix yet even though I have been telling them to get them for months, and they will likely get blocked out of the parks.... again to me it will be their fault. Maybe some aren’t doing their research before booking right now but I equate that to the family that showed up pre-Covid with zero planning that’s mad they can’t eat in the castle and ride all the headliners. How does one spend thousands in most cases with out doing at least some research? Keep your reservation and enjoy the parks :) if you don’t go I’m sure another local AP checking later in the day will be happy to grab it!

I could never imagine just trying to show up somewhere with out planning... but maybe thats just us.. LOL Thanks for the help and the laugh! I couldn't agree with you more!
