Do you know when the annual passholder rates for June 2003 will be out?

Thanks
Philg

I called yesterday about AP rates and the lady I spoke with said nothing would come out until around April 8 or 9. She thinks it will be through June and even possibly July.

I told her we were thinking about buying an annual pass for our trip in July and she said take 40% of the rack rate because that is about what the discount will be.

Hi Nathan's Grandma,

Did she say anything about May?

I'm sorry I should have been clearer. Rates will come out in April for May also.

I am hoping the July rates are in this next bunch.

Boy that seems so late.

thanks for the info

So if the discount is 40% I don't know which to choose. AKL @ $143.40 per night would be $860.40, & the Swan I already have for $162.50 which would total $975.00. I really hate the type of decisions!!!!

csmommy,

Why not do both? we split our christmas trip between the Dolphin and the AKL and loved it. We stsrted at the Dolphin and got that fabulous location and then, we moved to the AKL and got to experience the unbelievable ambience. So, my advice for this choice is--why choose? do them both. Also, the move from the Swan/Dolphin to the AKL took about 30 minutes out of our day. That includes both checking out and In.

PS--sorry to hijack your thread, OP.

In the past, the AP rates have been 'about 40%' off the rack rate, but last year, it was 30% off.

Usually, the AP rates for dates through June/July are released sometime in March. I've been an AP holder for years, and last year was the only year they came out way early, in January.

If they truly are going to wait until April to release the AP rates, that is pretty late. But, I guess it goes along with the trend Disney is aware of, that people are booking vacation plans later than in the past. We'll just have to wait and see.

Let's see the AKL or the Swan? That is a tough decison. I would suggest that you think about the vacation experiance you are looking for. If you want relaxing and animal watching and a sense of not really wanting to go to the parks because you might miss something the animals are doing then the AKL is the place to be.

If you want to be in the middle of the action, within walking distance to MGM and EC. Nightime entertainment at JellyRolls and Atlantic Dance. If you are a sports fan there is the ESPN Club. For fine dinning there are many places to eat within walking distance. You can also rent watercraft at the YC marina.

We stayed at the AKL for the third time just a couple of weeks ago for a nice relaxing six day trip. We will be back the end of Aug into Sept for a ten day trip and will be at the YC.

I did a spreadsheet for 30% off and 40% off so when they come out we will know. We were getting two rooms and now our group has grown to possible four or five rooms. We are going to have a disney "party" and make a list of 1st choice to 10th choice and then I will know what to reserve for our two or three rooms.

Disney is not going to discount rooms if they can sell them at rack rate. They will watch occupancy levels and decide when and what to discount.

So comes the age old question. Does booking a higher price room that one does not intend to keep without discount, delay or even limit the number of discounts due to inflated room occupancy levels?

I always book what I can afford without discount and then if and when they come out, I change.

I do the same sammie. Just hoping for a little bargain on the room, so I can get some more souvenirs for the little ones, and myself :D
