I have no idea how many passholders are within driving distance. It's important to you for an early announcement. Its It's really not important for Disney. I suspect Disney will have no problem finding enough AP holders to fill whatever preview slots are made available.Since most Platinum Pass holders are out of state, I think it would be important to announce the dates early so that we can actually book flights.
That's exactly the point- they really have no incentive to release dates any sooner than they have to. This will sell out quickly whether there is notice or no notice at all.I have no idea how many passholders are within driving distance. It's important to you for an early announcement. No, they haven't started yet. They were just told applications would be opening "soon". So they know it will eventually be opening up and they can only bring 1 guest. They are not being told much either.
It is after Traditions, I just don't remember how long after. It's been a few years since he was hired onAny idea when onboarding CMs get access to the HUB? I'm assuming after Traditions but I'm hoping maybe I'll learn how to access it next week at POET.
I'm in the same boat. I could easily shift my dates to make the preview, but I'm ready to say forget it. The waiting has gotten frustrating.Well, although I can drive down to Disney in 6 hours, I'm starting to loose interest in doing so. They should have just stayed quiet until they were prepared to announce then open the event. There is more to life than waiting for Disney to get it together.

This is my guess as far as preview timelines based on the fact that I know CM start training in the land by July 20th
CM preview Aug 10th through 17th
AP preview Aug 18th through 24th
Media preview/events 24th through 28th
I'm hoping for more than 7 days for APs, but your guess seems highly likely.
this seems like a reasonable timeline but I'm hoping the AP previews continue after that weekend as we don't arrive until Monday. Do you think media events will last that long? I know this isn't your first rodeo so you have a good grasp of the situation.
Truthfully, I dont know why they dont just come out with the dates. It doesn't hurt to release them so people can make arrangements. They can still make it a surprise when the previews slots are actually available to book!
Thanks for the reply. Is the application on the HUB? Can a CM go in more than once during that time? I have two children and need to take both in to SWGE.
through the HUB they can only get into one preview with one guest
My daughter will start working at MFSR on July 24th and I should have access again before then so I'll be able to check

I honestly don't remember, my guess on that aspect is going off on the previews they did for DLDid they do media previews after AP previews for Pandora?
I think you are correct, but that is, of course, the one week I can't go![]()
I agree, they will have no problem filling preview slots. However, Guests coming from further away (like me... NYI have no idea how many passholders are within driving distance. I'm not sure they're doing the previews to make as much profit as possible. None of us really know anything, but seems sensible to me they want to work out the kinks with a relatively low crowd. Pretty sure they're not interested in a Universal like event where people are in line for 10-12 hrs, then get told they aren't getting in at all.I agree, they will have no problem filling preview slots. However, Guests coming from further away (like me... NY) are more likely to stay on property and stay longer as opposed to people that are more "local". This will certainly benefit them from a business standpoint as it seems there's still a lot of resort availability for August. As it gets closer the window is closing..... at least for anyone that has to book flights and get time off from work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they open up preview reservations this week.
Expanding on PP, if maximizing profit was the goal of an AP preview Disney would be selling an AP package including hotel stay, possibly including a light saber and/or droid.I agree, they will have no problem filling preview slots. I think they might be waiting on engineering or whatever that department is, to hand the land over to operations before opening registration. As of now I know from a close friend that has a daughter who currently works at MK in merchandise that she will be transferred to SWGE on the 17th. My daughter who applied 3 weeks ago, got accepted for MFSR attractions starts her traditions and training July 24th.
This is an excellent point. Possibly waiting on passing some inspections from Orange county.
Also, if they are letting CM's into SWGE starting on the 17th you would think ALL major work should be done by that point. Having people in active hard hat construction zones is liability.
