Truthfully, I dont know why they dont just come out with the dates. It doesn't hurt to release them so people can make arrangements. They can still make it a surprise when the previews slots are actually available to book!

They probably don't want to artificially drive up resort reservations for people who THINK they'll get in and then end up cancelling. Especially since a lot of Platinum and above APHs are not local. They don't benefit from a bunch of cancelled rooms.

Except now, with all this speculation, there may be people booking 2 or 3 reservations as people guess the dates. I am really surprised at the number of people who are willing to fly down or even drive a long distance just for a preview.

and they don't want complaints from AP holders who booked airfare and don't get preview access.

There is no reason for Disney to announce early.

If anyone is wondering, today is the day AP and DVC reservations for Candlelight and over on the other page it is NOT going smoothly at all. Hour or more wait to speak to cast members. And the DVC member line is up to 45 min wait.

Possible they wont release anything else today since they are so backlogged already

Just a thought for u all

Since most Platinum Pass holders are out of state, I think it would be important to announce the dates early so that we can actually book flights.

This is my guess as far as preview timelines based on the fact that I know CM start training in the land by July 20th
CM preview Aug 10th through 17th
AP preview Aug 18th through 24th
Media preview/events 24th through 28th

well, I personally hope you are wrong. We are only there until the 13th - could probably extend a few days, but not all the way to the 18th.

We're out of state Platinum pass holders. I almost wish they didn't announce the previews so far in advance, if they won't be releasing registration very soon. Not only do we have concerns about booking a last minute hotel/flight, but it's interfering with our summer plans. We have some local activities planned throughout August, but if we can get into this preview, we would need to reschedule our local plans. It sort of feels like everything's on hold.

Has anyone else noticed that DHS closes at 8:30 PM between August 25-28, instead of the 9:00 PM closing, before 8/25, and the 10:00 PM closing, starting on 8/29 (opening date of SWGE)? Could that be a hint?

Does anyone yet know the approximate time of day for the previews?
The whole park won't close for the previews so that shouldn't have any bearing. I'd expect these to run just like Pandora. Park operated as normal, Preview guests were admitted just to the land

Yes. I'm on hold right now with DVC member services.

Our son is a cm. Don't know their dates yet. They let them know when it's open for a request and they put in an "application" . They usually get to bring 2 people but they were just informed they can only invite 1 for SWGE...

Thanks for the reply. Is the application on the HUB? Can a CM go in more than once during that time? I have two children and need to take both in to SWGE.

If you can only bring one guest, my guess is you can only go in once and not cheat the system to bring in two guests.

through the HUB they can only get into one preview with one guest
Thank you for the reply. Well I guess that won't work for me. I don't even know where to look on HUB. Wonder if I could take one child in on the day and then switch after a bit? .......Ugh how disappointing.

you can ask a coordinator. I haven't been on the HUB for about 5 years when my ex husband worked at Backlot Tour and I understand that they redesigned it. My daughter will start working at MFSR on July 24th and I should have access again before then so I'll be able to check

I assumed this would be the case. Only two members of our party in August have APs (my youngest daughter and I). My 14-year-old has little interest in Star Wars and is fine if I take her sister to a preview. My 11-year-old son might be annoyed but he could easily be bought off with a gift card for a new lightsaber or even a fancy nerf gun. He would also be away from his 7-year-old sister for a few hours, so that’s just a bonus. They could easily entertain themselves at DHS while we participate in a preview.

Shoot. I leave on the 18th, but my flight back home isn’t until the evening, so if I can get a morning slot in this scenario, I’m still good.
