I haven't bothered, the whole point was to create some zero-traffic method that triggered NO ongoing notifications or alerts at all, until such time as someone actually posted the one and only genuine Link (whenever it finally becomes available) which would trigger an urgent text message. But the darned thing started sending out alerts as people joined, and then apparently people started using it to post chats/etc, thus defeating the whole point.

Having run a couple of these registration threads on the dis that's what was supposed to happen here as well. You get people joining the thread and subscribing and then people would wait until an actual announcement to post that they got it.

I did suggest (probably about a hundred pages back) that it might be an idea to create a separate (open) thread to which people could subscribe for instant notifications, but which should NOT be posted to by anyone until the actual usable link for the previews is released. However, very understandably, the mods didn't want the pressure or responsibility of policing such a thread. And to be honest, we all know it would start to fill up with people typing "Follow", and then more people saying you don't need to post Follow but can use the Watch button, and then people saying "Just checking that I'm still subscribed because I have't seen any alerts today", and so on.

And of course I'm now just as guilty of adding chatter to this announcement thread anyway, but I figure that after 130 pages that ship has probably sailed.

Maybe I'm not getting them all, but there is little to no chatter on it. There have been a handful, especially at the beginning, but it's pretty rare now. I'm get a few notifications a day of people joining but it's very non-intrusive at this point. I fully expect I'll learn of the drop from here, just doesn't hurt to have a back up.

Has anyone else noticed that DHS closes at 8:30 PM between August 25-28, instead of the 9:00 PM closing, before 8/25, and the 10:00 PM closing, starting on 8/29 (opening date of SWGE)? Could that be a hint?

Does anyone yet know the approximate time of day for the previews?

if they do it like previews in the past it will be a whole day with time slots. The closing early might be for media events and official dedication ceremony

If that's the likely scenario, I should probably end my crazy watch then. My trip is over Aug. 16. So, the rumor of the earlier preview time (Aug. 10-11) is why I was even trying. Our trip was booked way before they even announced when the land would officially open. But your timing makes sense.

this seems like a reasonable timeline but I'm hoping the AP previews continue after that weekend as we don't arrive until Monday. Do you think media events will last that long? I know this isn't your first rodeo so you have a good grasp of the situation.

I think that’s a pretty valid guess. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what the dates ended up being

This certainly cuts us out. We leave on Aug 11 and always new it was a slim chance. Had really hoped that since they didn't have any regular AH events after the end of July that they would start earlier in August. We had this trip booked before the announcement and already have a fantastic trip planned. Getting into this would have been the icing on the cake. On the plus side, I know it's not going anywhere so will see it soon enough. Seems like everything opens just after our trips lol. Pandora, Toy Story Land and now Galaxy's Edge.

7 days is a little long for Plat AP members only. Pandora was like 10 days for all members and DVC. If it is indeed that long they will be adding more members to that week IMO

I have a feeling that they have a set number of people allowed into the previews. If it doesn't fill with Plat-Premier they might open it up for Gold and DVC

Those dates unfortunately wouldn’t work for me. I need the August 11th start date. But right now I’m in Disney enjoying the holidays so I’m not even worrying about it. Good luck to those whose dates work for them!
