Annual Passholder dedicated entrance during the Holiday Season

This is a great perk, hope it lasts past Jan. I agree on the shouldn't allow guests either.

I hate when the scanner doesn't work and they blame you for using the wrong finger. I'm not a rookie, and I have been doing this a while. I know which finger I used! Luckily, the scanners have been improving, and this hasn't happened in a while.
agree completely - although DH forgot which hand he used one trip (right finger basically but wrong hand) I was mortified ROFL

This has me thinking... We are traveling with my parents (not AP) next week. We were already thinking about getting them the new bus transportation for hopping to reduce walking. However we will have a rental so we were planning for at least one of us to not take the bus and to move the car. If this really speeds up the entry for the car mover (who has an AP) this might work out really well.

we have a car and are looking at trying this out in January. Our plan is to leave the car at park #1 and circle back to it at the end of our day - seems easier than moving it (to me). We normally park hop via the car - I am looking forward to skipping security in most parks - edited to avoid confusion - the skipping security is from taking the Express bus not having an AP

Not to be nasty, but I hope only AP holders are allowed in these lines, no family members or "guests". That would defeat the whole purpose of these lines. If you're with people who aren't AP holders & don't want to separate from them, go thru the regular lines together.

IMO minors should be exempt. Lots of us who visit often with grandkids in tow.

Think it's a lovely idea for AP & DVC guests and hoping it's good thru end of January as it is stated.

The cynic in me hopes they don't make it permanent & raise the existing APs more than 10% next go-round:rolleyes1using this sort enhanced feature as an excuse to charge higher price.

Skip security? I missed that part....I thought it was simply a separate line for park entry for AP holders....

Two separate things. If you pay for Express transport park to park, you leave from inside one park and arrive inside the next, thus skipping security at the second park. The AP admission line is at the front of the park.

Oh, thanks...I didn't think I could have missed something so big!:tilt:

This is great news but in our family of 3 i am the only AP holder. Will my family have to use the other tapstiles:confused3

You can do what I do with the "bags" "No bags" line. My family must go through the "bags" inspection line while I stand waiting for them on the other side looking at my watch and tapping my foot impatiently. ;)

I think this is a great idea as it will help expedite AP folks get into the parks faster. My only question is will there be hold ups if people try to get in the AP only line. Will there be someone checking before you get to the front or will your scan turn blue and have you directed to another line? Guess we will wait and see!

Good question - hopefully there will be signs and CM's telling folks AP only!

As for groups with both AP holders an other types of tickets - personally I hope they will enforce the AP only lines to AP only even though we will be traveling with family - some have and some don't have AP's!

Depending on our party size and the day we will either separate or those of us with AP's will accompany the others in the non AP line especially if it is my family and my / nephew as they won't want to enter alone (and may be too young!).

Respectfully disagree. Minors have to scan & can hold up the line just as any adult can. I saw kids getting in & out of strollers to scan this week. Certainly not a quick process. If you are with any non AP holder, adult, child, family, friend, you can go they the regular lanes. These lanes are intended to speed entrance for AP holders. They are not mandatory entry points. If you want to enter with a non AP holder, just pick a regular lane.

I was wondering this too.

I think if it does get longer, it will still move faster than the other lines, so your overall wait time will be reduced. Other than weekends during Food and Wine, I doubt if there is a large concentration of AP's at any one park at any one time. I would imagine it's fairly well distributed.

Maybe I've just been fortunate over the past 4 years but besides New Year's evening at Epcot, I've never once experienced a wait to get in a park longer than a few minutes. I'd much rather would've had another discount of some kind or Passholder Lounges instead of a dedicated line for park entrance. Unless there is some way they could speed up the time to get from the TTC to MK for passholders..
