When you get annual passes (new, not renewal) do they still give you a voucher that activates the first day you use it in the park or is it active the moment you buy it?

I believe it depends where you buy it. I know that if you buy it from the Disney Store it is still the voucher and it doesn't start until you activate it at the park. But I think if you buy it at Disney, it's an actual AP, not a voucher.

When you turn in the voucher for the actual pass, the time starts. It used to be the first time you entered a park. For example, some people like to activate the pass when they get there to save time but not go into a park until the next day. It would be effective the day they activated it.

What if you order the annual pass off of Disney's website, that would probably be a voucher, right??? Thanks, Megan

To the best of my memory :

If purchased of the Disney.com, by phone, of at your local Disney Store - you receive a voucher.

If purchased at DisneyWorld, downtown disney, or the Disney store in Orlando International airport - you receive an activated ticket, with the clock running.

Ticket or voucher, the "burning a hole in your pocket" feeling starts immediately. I speak from experience :earseek: !

Just an FYI....your pass expires 1 year from the date of PURCHASE, not when you turn the voucher into an actual pass....I would suggest buying the AP on your arrival night. The hotel will still let you check in and show the AP later. :smooth:

Just checked my annual pass voucher
It says:

"Your AP will be valid for one year from anniversary date. Anniversary date will be based upon redemption of this exchange certificate. Anniversary date will be printed on back of your annual pass."

:smooth:

that is not true. It is good from one year after activation.
