Annual passes?

Hi all -
We have been DVC members since 2009 and always buy an AP when we go: we time it to get 2 10 day trips out each AP. We cancelled our 2 trips in 2020 and Disney refunded our APs so we do not have current, active annual passes. We have our Beach Club 10 day stay booked for 10/2021 but cannot book park reservations because we don't have valid park admission. I do not want to pay for park hoppers for 10 days just to be able to book park reservations. Does anyone have a sense of when or if the Annual Passes are coming back?

I never thought about that since we always buy annual passes and have never bought by the day tickets. Is it complicated to do that and I assume that if they bring APs back it’s still permitted to upgrade?
 
Could you book a 10 day pass the upgrade it to an AP when you get there. (If they are available)

And an even greater tragedy adding insult to injury is that you can only buy a 7 day ticket now. After 7 days, you have to start over as if the guest never had a ticket. We went thru this back in August with a guest that was with us for a 9 night stay.
 

If you cancelled APs during the shutdown, you are eligible to purchase new APs now. Call the VIP AP line and purchase new APs. They’ll be vouchers that you activate when you arrive, but you are able to book park reservations now with them.
 
Thank you all for the responses! I had no idea we would be eligible to repurchase our gold annual passes since we held them before (and admittedly were pleasantly surprised that we got refunds on them). is the VIP line the standard (407) 939-7277? thanks again!!
 
the AP’s are? That’s new. They were not there a few days ago for purchase, just the description.
Pretty sure she meant the 10-day passes are available now. AFAIK, no annuals for sale yet (other than renewals and special cases VIP CMs can do).

Ah gotcha on the 10 day tickets. So, thanks to excellent advice above: I called the VIP line, they accessed my account, and said we were eligible to purchase a "recovery annual pass." The first cast member took my contact information and assured me someone from that specific team would call me back. About 20 minutes later, I got a call from the specific cast member. We purchased 2 gold DVC annual passes which are now linked to both myself and my husband in MDE. Park reservations made fo 10/21. thank you!!!

Since you canceled APs during or due to the closure, give the VIP pass holder line a call,

They mentioned that people in your situation were eligible to buy new ones.

Thanks to all of you- I was able to call and get 3 DVC Gold APs for our July trip. As you all mentioned, the VIPassholder line took my information/verified I had an active pass during the closure and then someone else called me back to process the purchase. SUCH a relief to have that done!

Which number did you call? Our AP expired during the closure. When I called the person said someone would call me back in 7 days. I really need to make park reservations for our Feb trip.

I called the VIPassholder line at (407) 939-7277. I had to check on the refund check I am still waiting on for the old passes (they are still processing it...) and I just asked about new passes when I called. She did refer to it as an annual pass "recovery". She took my information and the guy from the other department called me back within 10 minutes. I would say try again!

I've called twice, both times they took my info and said I would get a call back from the recovery team within 7 days. It's now been 3 days and no call back. :(
 
I called Saturday afternoon and got the call back this morning, so it took a little less than 5 days.
