Annual passes?

We had platinum passes that we canceled instead of extending. Then we bought dvc. Does anyone know if we can purchase a gold AP or would we be on the hook for platinum since that’s what we canceled? Would we call the VIP Passholder line or DVC Member services?

Were you able to rebuy with the DVC discount?

Yes, they applied the DVC discount.

I was able to buy two DVC gold passes for my boyfriend and myself, even though he had a regular platinum pass prior to cancellation. Presumably they'd allow you to switch AP types as well. The CM simply took my DVC number and verified that we can provide proof of residing in the same household. I initially called the regular WDW ticketing number, and they took down the information for call back. Maybe that's why it took five days, but it worked eventually!

Thank you! We had a platinum and need platinum again, so changing types isn't an issue. I just need the AP with the discount. :) I like my little 25-point blue card perks.

My pass expires in Feb. On the app it says I can renew for $1015 which is more than the DVC renewal price. I called the Vip line and they told me I would need to call DVC to see if they are offering that. Has anyone been able to get the DVC renewal price?

I’m a Premier Passholder but I have a WDW AP Renewal certificate sitting in my account. I wasn’t expecting that renewal certificate to get activated until DL reopened and my Premier Pass finally expired, given that my Premier Pass expiration has been extended throughout the pandemic, but with DL now announcing cancellation of the DL AP Program - which includes Premier Passes - my AP is also going to be cancelled.

Does anyone know how situations like mine will be handled? When they cancel our APs will the cancellation date be the date they cancel it or the date it originally expired, and will my renewal activate at that point? Do you think there’s any chance Disney will let me turn my renewal into a *new* certificate? I really don’t want my AP renewing now as due to Covid changing all of our plans we don’t expect to be even in WDW now until either Thanksgiving or Christmas time.

Yes. Just call DVC MS and tell them you want to renew your AP. You can renew at your current level or upgrade/downgrade to a different level at the renewal price.

We have had DVC Gold APs for years and have never been able to renew online. Always have to call (or renew in person at GR).

Just did Monday at the park when I was there, So, DVC should be able to do it too, I could not renew my DVC via the app online.

In case anyone is like me and waiting for a call back on buying a recovery pass, I got through today and got an update. They are apparently a few days behind, so the 7- day timetable they are quoting when you make the request may be longer. They do have a record of my request, so hopefully soon.

Ah gotcha on the 10 day tickets. So, thanks to excellent advice above: I called the VIP line, they accessed my account, and said we were eligible to purchase a "recovery annual pass." The first cast member took my contact information and assured me someone from that specific team would call me back. About 20 minutes later, I got a call from the specific cast member. We purchased 2 gold DVC annual passes which are now linked to both myself and my husband in MDE. Park reservations made fo 10/21. thank you!!!
So happy to hear this. This is our situation too, canceled active AP’s during shutdown.

since they can still renew AP, that makes me hopeful that they'll bring back AP. I know when the non-expire tickets ended, MS could not do anything relating to those tickets. When WDw made a mistake with a ticket, they could not reinstate the day or issue a new non-expire as they weren't in their system any more--they had to add a single comp day instead. Hoping....

How much was the gold Annual pass?

After reading this thread, I'm drumming up the courage to call and ask if I can get my family DVC Gold APs for WDW since they canceled my DL AP! Doubtful for sure, but worth a shot!

Update: Found some free time at work and made the call. Didn't work out. They are only allowing the premium passholders(WDW/DL) to buy new WDW APs.

Well I’m far from an expert, but I’m certain you got some bad info there. DL has currently ended their Passholder program as we know it. No sales on that one.

Perhaps I misread what you were saying. Certainly would not be the first time.

So I think they were letting dual pass holders where the AP includes both DL and WDW to now just buy a WDW ticket.

Others can renew WDW APs as well if they have one that has expired.

Not 100% but what I think I read.

Sorry for any confusion. What I was hoping was that Disney would take pity on a DL AP like me and allow the new sale of a WDW AP, since all DL APs were canceled.

When I called, I was told that unless you have the Premier pass, which allowed a user access to both WDW and DL, you couldn't buy a new WDW AP. They were as a following poster mentioned, allowing the premier pass holders the opportunity to buy a WDW pass

Such a bummer, I was already looking at all the cheap flights from LA to Orlando, and planning weekend trips to WDW. Alas...

It’s been 10 Days Since I spoke to an intake person (IT) re one of my family’s cancelled APs

Assume a combo of more folks requesting this & perhaps we are talking business vs calendar ones. :confused3 Will Give it till end of next work week before I call back

was told I’d receive a call back verifying eligibility. Then, a 2nd call would be forthcoming, wherein I could buy a new AP voucher (not renewal)

Sure hope they leave a message or call back number when they do call if I’m unable to accept the call

I called on Jan 12 to get new DVC gold passes for the 4 of us who are eligible. They told me 7 days. I then called on Jan 24 and asked about status, spent 95 minutes on the line and eventually got an answer that they are 14-16 days but confirmed I was still on the list so should be soon. As of today (Feb 1) still haven't gotten a call. Maybe it's business days. At this point I'm at 20 calendar days and 11 business days. I'll probably call back again the end of this week.

Fortunately I don't have a trip planned until June and it doesn't look like park reservations will be a problem then, so not really in a hurry I guess.
