A few years back we met a couple at Epcot that received annual passes for the life of their DVC contract as an incentive. Was this a real incentive and has anybody heard of this or have it? I would love to know the details on that if it is true like was there a minimum amount of points to buy and how much per point and are there any restrictions with the AP, how many AP's did you get with the contract ect.........Wish they would offer that again...we would add on in a second.

Not that I've ever heard of.

OKW members who bought from opening to early 1996 got limited free passes until 12-31-99. They were for half the occupancy of the room (so a studio & 1 bedroom got 2, 2 bedroom 4, GV 6) and were only for the number of nights not days (so if you went to the parks everyday you were short 1 day). This was a sales incentive with a stated expiration date (12-31-99).

There was never an incentive that provided annual passes for the life of the DVC contract.

Early buyers at OKW received free passes for MK, Epcot, and D-MGM through the end of 1999 on their GTTW crd for each night stayed at OKW. The number of passes depended on the type of villa, but it was less than the maximum capacity of the villa.

The person at Epcot who thought they had annual passes for the life of their DVC contract may have had such an OKW contract and sold it before the end of 1999. That could make seem like it was for the lifetime of their contract.

They must have sold their contract in 2000 and that would be free passes for the life of their contract.

We bought DVC in 1993 and got the free passes, as described by DebbieB and Horace Horsecollar.

We still own our original DVC contracts (plus some more), but the free passes ended in 1999, as the others posted. There was never any offering of lifetime passes.

There was an offering of 8 APs a couple of years back- thsat is a total of 8 APs during a set period of time so I supose if it was an individual it could be for 8 years. I think it might have been 4 for WDW and 4 for DL but we didn't do it so I only have vauge memories of the promotion.

That was in 2008. We added on 110 points (the minimum) and received 2 APs. The more you added on, the more APs you would get as additional incentive.

we joined in 2008 in CA and got 2 APs, I believe the promo at the time was only available if your bought in CA. And 2 was the max.
