Does anyone know anything about this? This could be a definite deal breaker for us.....

Two AP vouchers were part of our incentives when we purchased through Disney in July.

By the way, as a Marine Corp Brat I know "the only thing tougher than being a Marine is being a Marine's wife!!!"

Keep in mind that is only for buying in at SSR. That incentive is not available if you buy into a sold out resort.

Hi all :mickeyjum

New DVC SSR owner. Waiting for the paperwork to arrive to sign. I mentioned the AP's when I called and they only told me about the discount for being a DVC member. Has anyone bought recently who has received AP vouchers? We are thinking of calling back to see if we can still get them.

My wife and I bought on Aug 20th, 150 pts at SSR, and no APs for us. In fact I called our guide yesterday asking about this and he said they are only available for those buying add ons. I had my hopes up, since we have not yet closed and have been reading about AP incentives on DisBoards.

I am thinking that the AP,s were for add-ons only but I could be wrong.

We just bought into SRS (sending signed papers back Tuesday) and as incentives we were given the $10 off per pt and we will also also receive the vouchers for two AP's (there are only two of us) to be redeemed at either DL or DW, our choice.

Hope this helps. :wizard:

I thought the AP's were for add-ons of 130 (?) pts or more.

Goaliewife - did you purchase in California? I wonder if that is the difference? Just a wild guess.

We took the tour in July and there was no mention of AP's when they discussed incentives. Why are some people getting this and others not?

I'm with MinnieGirl33, I'm bettin' it's a California 'thang'. Notice both of the posters who mention getting this offer are in California and purchased there I'd suspect. DVC at DL has had different incentives than DVC at WDW in the past. DL seems to sweeten the pot a little because their purchasers are so far away from the DVC resorts I suppose.

I know of at least one other person who recently purchased at DL that also received the APs.

MinnieGirl........yes, we did purchase at DL in California and you are all possibly correct, maybe they do sweeten the pot for California purchasers because they are so far away and it is an extra incentive to buy; however, when we went for our presentation, the AP's were not mentioned as incentives. We were told at the time of our presentation that the incentives were the $10 off per pt or the builders points before Dec 1st. It wasn't until we called our guide to lt her know of our decision that we were told that we would receive the AP's.

The AP promotion was until the end of July for add-on's to SSR only. People who were just buying into SSR at that time were not offered that promotion as it was only for present members who purchased 130 or more points on SSR only. They also had an add on promotion for those who added on 50 points to SSR a one day one park ticket. This promotion also ended July 31st.

For those of you who are new members, just purchasing during the promotion or after the July 31st end of the promotion it will just a matter of time before DVC comes out with a new promotion. My DW and I were very lucky on timing for that promotion. We purchased our original contract in August of 2005 for 160 points. After taking our first DVC vacation in March of this year we just couldn't have enough points so we added another 150 of June of this year. Because we added on to our SSR contract we received 2 AP's.

We were told by a DVC cast member during our March 06 Disney Wonder cruise that most members add on within the first 2 years of purchasing their contract. Boy they were right as I never figured my DW and I would do it, but we did at the right time. I would just wait and I am sure that another promotion such as the AP's will come out sometime real soon. This might just happen if a new DVC resort is ever announced.

No, that is incorrect. Two new purchasers from California have already reported getting this deal, so obviously they are offering it in California. DVC's incentives have varied in the past, one offer in Florida and a different one in California. This disparity doesn't surprise me at all, it's just another way they chose to market it.

Not entirely, I purchased in July, so maybe it ended July 31st in California too.

I can address this. Bought in CA in August. Was given 2 AP's to close the deal. Called my guide yesterday to find out about adding on, was told 130 min point add on to get 2 more APs, if I purchased less would get 2 one day passes.
