The search engine is down and I have a question about Annual Passes. Can an annual pass be purchased through DVC? If so, how much are they? Is there a savings? Does your clock start upon purchase or on the first day you use it?

Thanks for any help.

There is no DVC discount on Annual Passes. DVC offers a discount only on UPH passes (those are available at the resort only- and have a 10% DVC discount).

Here is some information about WDW Ticket Prices.

Enjoy!

I think the only way to get a discount on AP is if you are a Disney Club member.

When you buy an AP before your trip you actually only get a voucher. You have to take that voucher to one of the parks to have it "activated". That is when you clock starts ticking.

Thanks for the quick info. You guys are the best.

I have annual passes and you can only get a discount thru the disney club but you can no longer join because it will be over at the end of 2003.The passes dont start until you activate them on your first visit. After the first year they start on the same day of your first year visit. They are cheaper to renew but sometimes not the best idea.My AP ends this july 7th so i will be going my 3rd time when i go the week of july 4th. It was a great deal for me.

I have almost the same experience as Tiggerguy. Our AP's expire on 7-5. We bought them using DC.

Our trip this June will be our third on the AP's. They have worked out well for us as we will have 20-21 vists on the same AP, which is a great savings. We were also able to take advantage of the AP lounges at Epcot and AK, which are apparently no longer in existence.

However, the fact that the AP renewal must run from the same date as the original purchase means that we will not be renewing this year, even with the savings. It just does not seem to make sense for us.

Good luck with your planning.

If you go to the WDW website, you can get decent discount by purchasing in advance.

$369 for a regular
$489 for a premium

I think that these prices may even be cheaper than what Disney Club's discount offered.

that price is before a 6.5% sales tax, with the tax it is 392.99, the same as at the gate. With the DC discount the cost, including tax, is $377.01.

I just picked up my AP today. Had a friend with the DC pick them up for me. I know, not the way it is suposed to work, but since they dropped the DC, it was the only way to get a discount. It saved me $75. Now, I know there is a list of all the discounts available to AP holders. Does anyone know where it is?

Thanks for the help!

i know that this is not the way it is supposed to work but i have heard of people going to their local disney store and purchasing the annual pass there and presenting their dvc card to the cast member that is checking them out and receiving a 10% discount on the cost of the ap...
if you are prepared to pay full price but get the discount then you are good to go...
again, i know that this is not supposed to work this way but i have heard of it happening...
have fun!!!!

Can we buy an AP voucher on the DC discount and activate it at a later date? Do they have an activation window? We would like to buy this year and activate when we go in 2004.

Thanks for the help

Bumping your question.

How many days from the purchase date of an Annual Pass Voucher do you have to activate it?

We too have plans of getting an AP for use in Oct 2004.
Currentlly we have PAP's that expire 10-26-2003, but like the 2 years worth of trips per AP strategy, so we do not plan on renewing our current passes. Just wondering if it is worth our time purchasing vouchers prior to the next price increase and wait until 10-2004 to activate them:D

Annual Pass questions can better be addressed on the Theme Parks Board. I'll move this over to that forum.
