Started saving for Annual Pass purchase in 2016 (yeah...yeah....yeah...I plan that far in advance :rolleyes1)
While we live in NJ we expect an extended trip in Dec 2016 and a family reunion trip in 2017 which should put us well over 11 park days. After that considering several shorter trips like the 24 hour event and September getaway. In the end, with all the available discounts it looks to be the way to go.

My questions are about the actual purchase of the AP. If I make the purchase online via the Disney Website:
a. Will I get a voucher or a Magic Band?
b. At purchase will the AP immediately attach to My Disney Experience?
c. AP holders get to enter FP+ selections at day 60.........and 10 days out.......right?

Really looking forward to being an AP holder! With the AP 2017 will be the "Year of Disney" for my wife and I! :sunny:

a) You'll receive a voucher. After the AP is activated (in person) you'll be able to order a free band via your MDE account.
b) It should. If it doesn't a quick call to IT will solve the problem.
c) It's 60 days + length of stay

As for c), type of ticket does not matter. Onsite/offsite is what determines the 60/30. See the green link in my signature for more info.

a. You will get a voucher. Once you have activated your AP, then you can go onto MDE and customize your magic bands. You won't have your AP MBs for your first trip.
b. If the voucher doesn't automatically link, there will be a number with it that you can use to link it to your MDE account.
c. APs get to make FP+ selections at 30 days out and for a max of 7 days, but it's a rolling 7 days. The 60 days out is for guests staying on site. If you stay on site and have an AP, you can make FPs at 60 days out and for either 7 days or the length of your trip.

Ok........then I have a follow up.........If I have an old MB (less than a year) will we be able to use them?

Thanks for all the feed back!!!

We just ordered our AP's over the phone a couple months ago before our two week trip recently. We did not receive 'anything' in the mail except our magic bands, but they immediately linked the APs to our MDE on the phone, and, on arrival, we went to Guest Services to receive our cards and validate our AP's the first day we entered the parks.

You got the magic bands because of your resort stay, not your annual pass. You have the choice of a mailed voucher or a will call confirmation #.
