Our annual passes expire August 22. What will be the new effective date? Will it be a year from the date I renew, or a year from August 22, when the original expires? Don't want to lose a month of benefits when it doesn't expire yet and I pay too early. lol Thanks!

APs are not booked for calendar years.
They are good for a year from the date they are activated.

Activate (pick up at guest relations) a new AP on Aug. 22, 2016, it will be good that day thru and including Aug. 22, 2017.
(Yes, you do get that "extra day" at the end.)

If you buy a renewal, it extends with the same date. If you buy new, it starts the day you activate it.

I deal with this every year. If I am not going to return within a few months of the renewal, it is often better to just wait until my next visit and purchase a full pass. The savings you receive by renewing are offset by the wasted months in between visits. I just let my AP expire in May, but at the earliest, will return in DEC, and possibly FEB or May. The math is in my favor, even with an increase.

Since it's the "old type" AP, I'm wondering if it's still considered a "renewal"? I have to change them to the "Premium" type AP?

Hi mom.

It will still be a renewal. I did this several months ago.

Hi Dan!!!! :cutie: How are you?? Hope you are feeling well!!! We haven't been to the Dolphin in the past few years ;( DD did two internships with Disney and now is working for a luxury resort in the area! She hopes to return to Disney some day in the future! Looks like she's staying in Florida, hence the APs!

Doing fine, mom, feeling well thanks. We miss you on the S/D thread. Nice update on your daughter, wishing her well.

At renewal time, you can upgrade/downgrade to any level of annual pass that you are entitled to and keep the renewal savings. This applies even if Disney has eliminated the pass you currently hold.

Not to hijack the thread, but we just renewed our pass with the Platinum Plus (the expiration of your old pass is the effective date of the new one, confirmed) and Disney Quest is no longer included. Not a huge deal but it was a great way to spend a few hours on a rainy day. Guess they're trying to maximize revenue on the space before re-purposing it.

DQ entry can still be accessed as one of the assets on a "Water Park Fun and More" option on Magic Your Way tickets.
DQ is not listed as an option, but it is still part of the WPF&M deal.

Hello, everyone. I have an AP that will be expiring in October, but I will not be there until November 27. I'm not planning to renew unless I can work in another trip next year to make it worthwhile. But I'm wondering if I can make dates work for me....Can anyone answer this for me?

I read somewhere that if you are planning to convert your MYW PH ticket to an annual pass, you can do it any time during your vacation and bridge with the difference between the ticket cost and the AP cost. If this is true (can anyone confirm this?), and I wait until our last day in the park (Dec 2), would the new AP be good through Dec 2 next year?

We plan to try to do a trip every year after Thanksgiving, and with the way the dates work out next year, the AP would cover that week...

Would this work?

Thanks in advance!
