Annual Pass questions

Hi folks

More annoying questions!! I am looking at the Annual passes for Disney and wondered what is the best way to buy them. If I order them in advance and get sent the voucher by Disney, when does it become effective? Also, can I then use this to book cheaper accommodation or do I need to have the completed form with me (I was looking at booking for the All Stars before going and using the AP to get a discount).

Any help you can give me on this would be most welcome!

Nick

Hi Nick,

The AP voucher has no expiry date and the year starts when you activate your AP (when you exchange your voucher for the actual AP at Guest Relations at any WDW park).

You don't actually need to have an AP to get the AP rate at WDW resorts - but you will need it (or the voucher) when you check in. The rules actually say you need the actual AP when you check in, but in practice you can get away with just the voucher).

We have just bought our AP vouchers for our trip in December - we bought them this far in advance to take advantage of the $$ exchange rate. Just call the standard WDW CRO phone number to apply for your AP and the vouchers arrive about a week later via DHL.

If you are planning to make a booking onsite you may want to look at using DreamsUnlimited, which is the DIS travel agent. You will get your on personal travel agent who will make you reservations and also apply any AP (or other better discounts), when they become available - really takes the hassle our of booking. On top of this your agent will also book your PS reservations for you, saving all those phone calls :) All theses services are free!

Have fun :)

Thanks a lot mate - this is really helpful and I'll check them out. Can you tell me briefly what other benefits you get with the AP. I notice that for the cheaper one, you don't get the water parks or Downtown Disney - just looking to see what extra benefits you get.

Thanks

Nick
