Does anyone know the answers to these questions concerning annual passes? 2 years ago we purchased an annual pass for our 3 grandchildren ages 13, 10, and 7. They have not been able to use the passes yet, and the 7 year old is now almost 10. I have called WDW 3 times, and received 3 different answers to these questions.
1. Will we be able to upgrade his pass for the adult pass without buying a whole new adult pass?
2. Will we have to pay the additional money for all the price increases since 2017?
3. Is there a point at which the tickets will cost to upgrade?
Thanks for any help, and advice given.

An annual pass that was never used/activated retains full value. No “upgrade” needed to bring to current price. It should be good to use as-is, with activation at Guest Relations or a ticket window.

i don’t recall exactly when WDW eliminated the child AP but i would have guessed at least 5 years ago. Are you sure one is a “child” AP? Or are all 3 the same?

enjoy your vacation!

1. If there was a difference in price between a child and adult AP when you first bought the AP certificates, you'd pay the price between what you originally paid for the never-used child AP and a new adult AP.
2. Well, no.
3. If the other two kids are still under 10 years when they want to finally activate their APs , you can simply activate and use the never-used child AP, no additional charge.

No penalty for aging. Unactivated passes do come with an expiration date now, which is listed in the confirmation somewhere, but it’s many years in the future. As long as it’s not expired there will be no charge when you activate them, even if they don’t offer that type of pass anymore. However, if pass benefits change between when you purchase and when you activate, you typically only get the benefits that were listed when you purchased.

1. We need to careful about posting that kind of info.
While it is true for partially-used non-expiring tickets, it is not true for never-used tickets.
2. If, for instance, if a non-expiring child's was purchased in, say, 2010, and a day or two was USED back then,
any remaining unexpired days could be use (at no extra charge) by the former child who is (now) over age 10.
(The ticket could be upgraded to an adult ticket at no charge.)
BUT, if a non-expiring child's ticket was purchased in 2010, but never used, that child's ticket cannot be activated (used at a park) by a (now) adult-aged guest (even though it may have been purchased when that
same guest was still under 10 years old.)
That never-used child's ticket would need to be upgraded to an adult ticket before a guest over the age of 10 could use it.

In the case of THIS question regarding an AP,
if the original "child" AP certificate (sometimes called an AP "voucher") cost the same price as an adult AP at the time of purchase, that AP certificate CAN be activated
at no up-charge to "adult AP" status.

But, if the original "child" AP certificate cost LESS than an adult AP at the time of purchase, that AP certificate would need to be upgraded to an adult AP in order to be activated and used by a (now) over ten year old guest.
at no up-charge to "adult AP" status.
