If my AP expires on Dec 11th, is the last day I can use it Dec 11 or Dec 10?

Also, if I want to renew my pass (which expires Dec 11th), but my next trip isn't until mid-Jan, can I wait until then and still get the renewal rate? Not sure how renewal works for DVC members and I am not sure where to find this info.

The expiration date is the last date the pass can be used.

You can renew up to 60 days prior and up to 30 days after the expiration date of your existing pass and still be eligible for renewal pricing.

Thanks so much. Can I renew online or is it in person only? Is the first date of the new renewal pass the date of purchase or date of first park use?

If you wait until Jan to renew then you will not be able to make advance FP reservations. As long as you will arrive and pay for the upgrade by Jan 9th if you expire date is Dec 10th you will get the renewal rate and your pass will start on the date in Dec it renews on now. If you trip is after Jan 9th then you need to renew on the phone or online. When you renew the pass date continues to stay the same so other than a possible need to save up for it there is no reason in particular to wait.

I'm a bit confused. My pass expires Dec 11, 2014. My next trip after that begins Jan. 16, 2015. Then we also will be back for a New Year's trip in late December 2015/early January 2016. I am trying to figure out how to renew my pass so that it covers both the mid-Jan 2015 trip and the New Year trip as well.

If you want the pass to cover trips in January '15 and January '16 you do NOT want to renew. You need to purchase a brand new pass and activate it in January '15. This non-renewal will cost you more but that's the only way to extend its useful period for a full year from first use. Renewals always pick-up right after the original pass expires.

And this is why they give you a discount for a renewal -- it's to encourage you to always have the pass active, instead of having it lapse between vacations and then try and double up on one annual pass.
