I'm looking for some information about Out-Of-State Annual Passes at Universal. It wasn't until I read a post on here that it dawned on me, I may be able to make use of this feature in 2012. :thumbsup2

DH and I are looking at taking a trip to Universal in the Spring or Early Summer of 2012 with our two kids. Definitely staying on-site at RPR (we loved this last time) for about 4 nights/5 days.

I am also taking a December trip with my sisters to Disney&Universal to celebrate my 40th birthday. We are limited to two days at Universal for this trip.

So, here is the question. If I got an annual pass for myself, can I get discounted 4 day tickets for my husband and two children; as well as, discounted two day tickets for my 3 sisters?? The website mentioned discounts for six tickets total (which works out perfectly), but did not mention if I can do this for two seperate time frames and different ticket options??

I ran the math and it looks like getting one annual pass for me would net a nice savings just on tickets. :worship: Then there are the other discounts which we would get some use of as well.

One last question, are the annual passes Jan-Dec or can I get them for any 12-month time span (Say Feb 2012-Feb 2013). The girls' trip in December may get bumped to January 2013. I want to make sure that an "annual pass" would still allow me to get discounted tickets for my three sisters during that trip.

Final question. I've read that there is an AP rate available at the resorts. Is this for any annual pass holder or just Florida Residents? How does this generally compare to the Stay More/Save More rate?? I'm really hoping to stay on-site for both trips and hope we can find a deal to make it a reality.
Thanks, in advance, for your expertise!!!

Yes, you can do the discounted tickets separately. The annual pass starts the first time you pass through the gates. After you have activated by passing through the gates, you can purchase your discounted tickets. It is a silly system but that is how it works.

The nice thing about the hotel discounts you get is that they are constant, no matter how many days you stay, unlike the stay more save more. Every preferred and premium AP gets these discounts when available---not just Florida residents.

Wonderful! Thanks Damo.

I can deal with the little inconvenience of having to pass through the gates, then get the tickets. This is going to be a great budget saver!

:disrocks:! I would have never even thought about an annual pass if I hadn't seen it here first! :cool1:

Is there any discount for Florida Residents as far as base tickets or the annual pass?
