Annual Pass Question...

There are discounts on hotels if you have an annual pass right? Can someone tell me what the discounts are and for which hotels?

thanks!

There are AP discounts on the hotels and the % of the discount varies depending on the time of the year

Cost savings on tickets. In the scenario you put forth, a 4 day hopper is $419.61, and a 9 day hopper is $488.84, for a total of $908.45 for tickets for those two trips. A platinum AP is $797.69. So there's a savings of over $100. In addition, there is currently a 20% discount on merchandise and food at some locations, 10% most everywhere else. There can also be discounts on resort rooms at times.

Currently, Disney is running a promotion that gives you 13 months instead of the normal 12 months, if you buy the AP before Jan 3, 2017. You don't have to activate it by then, just purchase it.

Can you give me more info on activation?
I have never had an AP but thinking of getting one this yr.
If I buy by 1/3/17 I would get 13 months from ____? I wouldn't need to use it until February most likely.

You just have to purchase the AP between now and 1/3. The pass isn't activated until you first use it. So if you buy it today, your 13 months doesn't start until you use it, say Feb 19th. Then it would expire March 19th

If you make a reservation that later on falls in a category that is eligible for an AP room discount can you modify your existing reservation? Or No?

Definitely buy the AP. You'd be surprised about how motivated you might be to add an extra trip when you don't have to pay for extra tickets.

If there is room availability at your resort/room type, they can modify. I am not buying my AP until I arrive since I will be upgrading. When the AP discount came out, I called and booked an AP discounted room. I just have to get my AP that first day and show to the front desk.

And, it is VERY likely that you will never have to show the AP to anyone.
In years past (decades,) most times the check-in CM didn't even ask to see the AP.
NOW, with on-line check-in, it is very likely you won't need to take the active AP to the desk at all.
The system (your MDX file) "knows" if you have an AP, so there's no real need to "show it" to anybody.

AP can make FP+ at 30 days or can they do 60?
The person would be on a ressie with non AP holders who can do 60.
Thanks

Normally, 30 days, if the guest is not booked at a WDW resort.

HOWEVER... anyone who is part of a reservation with guests who ARE staying at a WDW resort can make FP+ at 60 days, too.
