So we are getting annual passes this year. We have to buy three now as my daughter is almost 4 years old now. We had passes in 2014 and skipped 2015 as we had another addition to the family. I really want like that the gold pass as it has the Disney Photopass included into the ticket. We don’t like going to the parks during peaks times. We usually buy the seasonal pass which is now the silver pass. Would it be wise to buy 2 silver and 1 gold pass? I would like that my daughter have the gold pass just in case the Grandparents want to take her and they can get the photo’s while they are with her.

And if we go that route would the person with the gold pass always have to be there to get the photo’s as in being on the rides or taking pictures with the characters?

Let’s say that my wife (silver pass) and I (silver pass) get on a ride that my daughter (gold pass) cannot get on and we want the picture, would we be able to download that pic since my daughter would be under me account?

Any thoughts on this?

Just trying to see what people think or has anybody tried this.

Everything I read says if the person/ticket is linked to your "My Disney Experience" account - as a friend or family, then you get their pictures. I won't be trying this out until the fall so we will see though. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else with the photo package has gotten their friends/families photos from when they weren't at the ride, or weren't even in the park.

The pass holder that has the PhotoPass download entitlement can download photos from anyone that's listed in their Family & Friends list. If it's a connected friend (has own MDE account), they need to allow you to view/purchase their PhotoPass pictures.

The pass holder does not need to be present when the photos are taken.

Thanks for the info. our trip is planned for beginning of October and we cant wait to go again!!!! :earsboy:

I would get one of the adults the gold pass. Even if your daughter went with grandparents, the pictures would show on your photopass account because her band is linked in your account. If you "friend" the grandparents and they share their photos, you can download all of them free, too. If she got the gold pass, it may not work as easily because she may need her own account but she is also too young to get her own account.

You want the gold pass on the account doing the downloading - all bands can get pictures.

i didnt think about the fact that she may need her own account if she had the gold pass.

Right, and it's really not necessary. My father in law has a gold pass, and they can download all of my, my husband, kids, etc pictures - we didn't go at the same time, I just shared my photos to him because he's my "friend" on MDE. Only one person in a friend group needs it, and it should be the person who wants to do all of the border editing and downloading.
