Now that I am a new member, I understand that I can get a discount on the annual pass. Where can I purchase the annual pass? Do I have to wait until my next trip and get it at WDW, or can I purchase it from home and still get the discount. If the latter is true, does the pass expire from the date of purchase, or the date of activation?
TIA!
so many questions, sorry I am new!

There is no advantage (other than budgeting or trying to avoid a price increase) to purchasing your AP before your trip.

However, you can order your prepaid AP voucher either by phone through Memeber Services or through the DVC member website. Or, you can purchase in person at guest services outside any WDW park or at Downtown Disney.

If you pre-order avoucher, you still need to trade that for the actual pass at Guest Services. The start date will be the date you actually redeem the voucher for the pass at guest services.

You can get it on site (at any Guest Relations desk/booth), by calling MS or online via the Members' Website. If you purchase through MS or online, you will get an exchange certificate. You have to exchange the certificate for the actual pass at Guest Relations. Your year of admission starts on the day you do the exchange.

Congratulations and welcome home - and welcome to the DIS DVC Forums. It's a great place to get all your DVC questions answered.

If you buy your AP voucher do you then start getting the newsletters or whatever the send AP holders? Or do you not receive that stuff until you actually redeem for the AP.

You won't get the pass holders' newsletter until after you have an actual AP or PAP (until after exchange the voucher for the actual pass).

Even after that, getting the Mickey Monitor is hit or miss. In my experience, sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't!

You should be able to get access to the pass holders' website with just the voucher , though. I know that I have in the past. (I don't look at it much now, since we seldom have a need for a cash night and the DVC and DDE benefits are generally better than those for the AP).

Now where in DTD is guest relations?

There is one in the building that houses World of Sports or something like that. Do you remember where you could burn your own CDs with Disney music? That's the spot.

There's another one free standing at the entrance to PI.

I've read that there's a third in Westside but I don't know where it's located.

But if you redeem at DTD, the pass is activated. Why not just do it at your first park?

Now where in DTD is guest relations?

Guest Relations in DTD is adjacent to the Princess Make-up and Photo Area. If you are facing DTD from the water and lookign at the BIG World of Disney Store you would need to go toward your left toward Earl of Sandwich. The Guest Releations Desk is set inside the building along the back side of DTD.

I admit it is not easy to find if you dont know where it is. Once you know where it is, it easy to remember where it is.

The Guest Relations offices at DTD are located in the Marketplace and in West Side.

The Marketplace location is between the Team Mickey shop and the Ghirardelli shop towards the Rainforest Cafe end of the Marketplace. This is a walk-up counter located indoors between the two stores.

The West Side location is at the Pleasure Island end, just past the AMC Theaters. Walk straight down from the parking lot with PI on your right and AMC Theaters on your left and you will see it right in front of you. It is a white building that says "information" on it. This is a Guest Relations window like the parks have.

We use our Disney Visa rewards to pay for most of our AP costs, so that is something that we cannot do at Guest Services. That's why we buy in advance and get the voucher.

Slightly off topic, but now that we can buy DDE on-site...well, that is a big help. :thumbsup2
