Annual Pass prices

No. The same $100 & $125 still apply. I just double checked it through the member site.

Gate AP $434 / DVC AP $334
Gate PAP $559 / DVC PAP $434

I didn't realize it was going up that much-- yesterday, it was $290 to renew the AP. That's $44.00 higher. . !!
Or is there a difference in cost between renewing and buying a new AP w/DVC discount?

Ok, I think I just answered my own question: renewal price is lower than the initial purchase. (about $323, as posted earlier on this thread)

Help! I just saw this thread and we are going in November 2006.

So we are two adults, two children under 10. How many days do we need to want to park hop so that an annual pass is worth it? If we go for 6-7 days once a year, but might go again within the 365 day window, is it better to just buy tickets via mousesavers discounts or something like that? It looks like regular annual passes are $315 adults and $277 kids with our DVC membership discount? Do you know if the DVC member price will increase tomorrow too?

After checking allearsnet, buying a DVC discounted AP is about equal to buying a 6 day magic your way with park hopper and no-expire options. IMO, the DVC AP is a great deal.

We always time our once a year trips to be within 11 months of each other and buy APs every third year(visit). That way, we get to squeeze in 2 trips on every pass.

For me the dilemma is that we're not really planning that many WDW trips next year, so I had to buy 10 day non-expiring park hoppers for the first time. Man will I miss the DDE and World of Disney discounts!

That was my point. I had no idea where the $79 came from.

Wait, does this mean that the price of a DVC annual pass also increased?

Yes the basic discount stays the same but with the price increase, technically goes from $100.00 yesterday to $79.00 today. I call this creative accounting!

Oh I am so upset that I missed this. I had been planning on purchasing our AP for our Dec trip early but have put it off for no reason really. I had no idea they were going up and I missed it by 1 day it seems. It is still showing $315 on the member website but when you go to the ticket store it shows the new, higher price. Oh well! Guess this shows that I need to check the disboards everyday!

It's not $79, it's still $100.

I came on this thread last night, by accident and bought mine at 12:20 pm Eastern time. Now that it was on Pacific time that makes sense. I was rushing. I could not figure out how to get the DVC discount on my husband's. He had bought it almost a year ago before we became DVC members. It had to be in the number on the pass because I went through the renewal site on the DVC member home page and kept getting the non member renewal price. I will have to call MS unless some one can tell me another way to do it and get the DVC discount.

I think to get $79 you compare the NEW dicounted Price to the OLD full price, but I don't really understand it?

Cobbler: Thanks! I do have a Disney Visa, and didn't know about that discount. I always use it for Backstage tours, since that's usually the deepest discount there. A little less sad now ;)

Last Aug I paid around 314 including taxes for the
DVC AP..prices went up in Jan to 335.48 ( around 20 increase) than today up to 355.71 another 20 . So $40 in less than a year!!!!! Yikes.

Thank You Carol.

I guess I'm not making myself clear enough.

$100(DVC discount) - $21.00(Price Increase) = $79.00

Difference between buying yesterday or buying today.

Oh Never Mind!

YES, it stays at $100.00 but if you bought the AP yesterday you saved an extra $21.00 per AP.

Sorry to confuse.

Sadly, I followed your logic completely and clearly.

This is no compliment, (since I'm a most inbeloved frog), but I'm not trying to be mean, just honest!

Wouldn't that logic make it $121 and not $79? :)
