I bought Platinum APs for me and my daughter and we used them Jul '16, Dec '16, and Jun '17. Great value!

We have a Dec '17 trip booked and plan to return in Jun '17. In Dec we have a split-stay packages booked:
POP with 2-day non-hoppers (no dining)
CSR with 6-day hoppers (dining)

I checked AllEars website and it looks like the cost including tax for the 2- and 6-day passes are:
2-day non-hoppers = $211.94 x 2 = $423.88; 6-day hoppers = $495.23 x 2 = $990.46 for a grand total of $1414.34.

The price with tax for the Platinum Pass is $829.64 x 2 = $1659.28.

If my math is correct, I should definitely upgrade to the Platinum APs.

My questions:
1: Is my math correct?
2: Should I do this over the phone before our trip? If so, who do I call?
3: If I do it on property, where? (Guest Services on Main Street was a disaster the first time I bought APs)
4: Does it matter when I do the upgrade?

Thanks so much!

As long as you plan to use the tickets for your split stay within a 14-day period, your math should look more like: 8-day park hoppers = $527.18 x 2 = $1054.36. The first days of a multi-day ticket are the most expensive, so that's almost $400 extra you would pay for a 2 + 6 day ticket vs. 8 days.

If you're planning to return in June for at least 5 days, I would say the AP is the best option. If you're going back for a just a few days, maybe consider only getting one AP (for the discounts, free parking, photo pass photos, etc.) and use regular tickets for your daughter.

Wow! I think I might need to rebook, or something. I've never done a split stay before. Thank you!

I agree with the PP about asking this on the Ticket thread but I can tell you one problem with this scenario. You can only use one ticket entitlement to upgrade to an AP - so you cannot use both the 2-day and 6-day ticket at the same time.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe upgrade the CSR stay to 8 day hoppers (I read, I think on that ticket thread, that you can activate package tickets up to 10 days prior to a package stay). So, you activate your 8 day package tickets during what would be your room-only POP stay. Then you could apply the 8 day hoppers as your credit towards an AP.

Of course, I have less than 100 posts, so everything I know I've read on these boards, so please double check!
