Annual Pass & FP+ Question

We will be doing an 8n trip in August...question is this: We want to get AP's as we will be making multiple trips within the next 12 months. We planned on purchasing 8d PH's with WP+M option and then upgrading to AP's at WDW.

1) Is it better with regards to FP+ to have AP's to start with on day 1, or upgrade once there? I don't want to lose FP+ ressies due to upgrading...I fear the dreaded 'computer glitch'

2) I understand upgrading on day 1 is recommended, however, is upgrading on day 8 ok or do I only get remaining day(s) applied to the AP cost, thus significantly increasing my overall pass cost?

you can upgrade on any day - and the cost is the same (once you've used the ticket one time). We have upgraded to APs many times and have not had any problems with losing FP+ due to any computer glitches. I do recommend you upgrade early in the trip so you can take advantage of AP discounts.

Note if you use any of your water parks and more entitlements you will have to upgrade to a Premium AP (that includes water parks etc) just a note as that AP is more than a regular parks AP.

if we start with the 8d Hopper with WPF+M, and go to the waterparks, then upgrade at end of trip, will we still get full value of the 8d hopper with WPF+M applied toward the AP? We don't plan to upgrade to a premium AP

2. Yes.

3. If you use ANY of the WPF+M assets, you will ONLY be allowed to upgrade to the Premium AP. If you DON'T use any of the WPF+M assets, you can choose to upgrade to either the standard AP or the Premium AP.

1. No need to wait to do the upgrade, since the rules in #3 above apply.
So, you can upgrade any time after using the ticket at least once to enter a theme park.
