Annual Pass for Resort Discount

I am comtemplating buying an annual pass to save on our next trips to DW. We are trying to visit in Dec 06 and Sept/Oct of 07. In Dec 06 we want to stay at WL and Spt/Oct maybe Poly. My concern is that we are not too sure whether we would go in 07 for sure since it is so far away. For those of you that have annual passes have you ever bought one for just one trip? We will be going for at least nine days in Dec 06 and I am thinking that if we an save at least $70 a night on the room then it would be worth it.

I do have some questions for those who have annual passes though.. first can you get the dinning package? Also only one adult has to have an annual pass to get the resort discounts? Last question can I buy the pass early and not have it activated until we go in Dec 06?

Any help or advice here would be great!!! I am just nervous to purchase a pass and then there be no savings for early Dec. I feel then that it would just be a waste.

I am not sure but people on the codes and rates board know a lot about that kind of thing, you might want to switch to that board. hope that helps!

I did just that last year, for our trip to AKL.

I paid 200$more for my ticket than I would have, but I saved 100$ night on the hotel, so it still worked out to 500$ in savings.

The best part, is that we are going for two nights this year before our cruise, and my AP is still valid, so I am getting another room discount, (122 taxes in for a mod), and my ticket to one day at disney is paid.

So for us it was really worth it!

PS, the savings are most significant when you stay at the more expensive hotels, for us we never would have paid 3oo night for AKL, but 200 seemed ok, it was worth it for sure...waking up to zebras and giraffs every morning was priceless!

I forgot to mention, that once you book the room with the AP discount, you cannot do the dinning package. You also can wait to activate your AP until you get there.

We found the dinning package would not have saved us, since we did breakfast everyday in the room and had one sit down meal, one counter service, and we never went over the amount the meal package would have been.
