Annual Pass Expires Mid-Trip - Fastpass+ Reservations

Two members of our party have annual passes that expire mid-trip in March. They will be renewing the annual passes.

The question I have is how do I go about making FastPass+ reservations? Do the passes need to be renewed prior to starting to make reservations in January for the March trip? Or will it let me book FastPasses without the renewal?

I imagine we need to renew now and unfortunately foot the bill for the renewal early. If that's the case, can one person have two tickets allocated to their account? Also, on the same topic, if we were to renew the annual passes in January for tickets that don't expire until March, will the renewal not take effect until March?

What if you just purchased multi-day tickets for the two AP holders and linked them to their MDE accounts. Set up MDE to use the AP first. Apply the multi-day tickets towards the purchase of the renewed APs when you get to WDW.

Less output for now unless there is a greater discount if you renew early.

For DL, we would allow our APs to lapse, buy multi-day tickets to visit during an AP blockout period, then apply the tickets to new APs on our last day.

Passes can be renewed up to 60 days before or up to 30 days after your expiration date, and you receive a discount when you renew! But don't delay, because whether you renew by your expiration date or any time up to 30 days after, your renewal Pass will still expire 12 months after your original expiration date.

If you decide to renew in advance you'll want to call and renew before 60 days before your check in so you can book FP+ selections for your entire trip at that time. If you call and explain the situation they should let you renew even though it is more than 60 days before expiration.
