I apologize is this has been asked recently. We are leaving August 12 and driving (from NY) to WDW. We would like to do the annual pass discount for the trip. Here are my questions:

1. If I order today (July 24), do you think I will receive the vouchers in time for the our departure?

2. Is there anything gained by ordering online, or should I just wait until I am at guest services when we arrive, to avoid possibly missing the vouchers?

We are staying at BCV, so we could be at guest services within 5 minutes of leaving the room.

Thanks all,
Michael

We ordered the annual pass & received the voucher within a few days. You should have no problem.

 :Pinkbounc :bounce: :rolleyes1

We ordered a few weeks ago and instead of a voucher, within a day or two we got a phone call and an email with a will call number to use when we get there.

Unless you think the price will go up before you get to WDW (unlikely, IMHO), there is no value to ordering your AP or PAP in advance. The only exception would be if you also wanted to order a DDE card (Disney Dining Experience). In that case you'd need the numbers off the back of the voucher - do not ask for the will call option if you want a DDE card. The email confirmation doesn''t contain the numbers you need to give the DIning CM.

Personally, I would not order the voucher ahead of time this close to departure. It would just be one more thing to worry about getting and then remembering to bring along. Either way (voucher or buy on site), you still have to go to Guest Relations and show the CM there your DVC membership card and a photo ID. The voucher saves only the time it takes the CM to take your check, credit card or cash.

Best wishes -

I agree.

What is the price for the Annual passes now for adults with the DVC discount?
thanks

We got ours at the International Gateway in about 10 minutes. We provided our Blue Member card and Drivers' licenses for the two of us. Our son doesn't drive (he was only 11), so he didn't need anything but us.

I purchased my AP with my DVC discount at Guest Services at Disney Studios. All I needed with my DVC card and photo ID. I'm sure you can purchase one at any Guest Services.

An Annual pass is $415 plus tax.

the DVC discount is $100, so your pass will be $315 plus tax.

Our AP's expire on August 19th and we're getting there on the 20th, so can we just do a renewal at Guest Relations, by the same method, showing DVC card, and picture ID? Do we need to bring the expired passes?

I have a question - My dh and I have 8 days left on a MYW, park hopper, non-expiry ticket (was a 10 day ). We are now DVC owners and would like to upgrade to an annual pass. When I looked at the ticket prices of * day MYW, PH, NE passes it was more expensive than the DVC annual pass price. Do they refund us the money? My dd will be 11 when we go so we will have to get a pass for her - can she use the difference in our passes towards hers?

In the past Disney has given credit for unused tickets toward an annual pass. Not sure what they're doing with MYW tickets, but if they do it like they did in the past, they will give credit toward the original purchase amount (not current prices).

If they do it as they have in the past, then just throwing out some easy to understand numbers, if you originally paid $400 for a 10 day pass, used 2 days, Disney would probably apply 4/5th of your original purchase price toward an annual pass, or $320.

If the credit is more than the discounted price of an AP, I don't know what they would do.

You cannot "upgrade" a partially used ticket unless you do it within 14 days of the first use. In that case, you receive credit for the entire purchase price and the AP or PAP is backdated to the first day the original ticket was used.

You can apply the remaining value of one partially used pass towards the purchase of one longerMYW ticket or an AP/ PAP (It's a one to one deal). However, MYW tickets are "front loaded" so the value of the last few days of a partially used 10 day ticket isn't going to be worth much. (This front loading is new with the advent of the MYW system. Disney used to prorate the remaining value of the older tickets the wasy Caskbill describes, but that is no longer true with the MYW tickets). You may be better off keeping the partially used MYW ticket (since it doesn't expire) for another trip and just buying the DVC AP stragit out if that works best for you.

My advice is to ask the CM at Guest Relations (resorts can't handle AP/PAP transactions) the dollar value of the partially used ticket before you do the transaction. Then decide if it's worth it.

FWIW, DIsney's policy is not to give "change" or refunds when an upgrade is done, so you shouldn't expect to get any money back from an upgrade or dollar credit transaction. That said, some have reported that they did get money back - I believe they just got an incompletely trained CM who made an error in their favor .

My wife and I have 2 one day hopper tickets that we never used. Can these applied against the purchase of an AP?
