Annual Pass discount question for May 2012

Hey,

Sorry to bother you guys. I have a quick question. My annual pass ran out during Christmas time this year. I didn't renew it because I didn't think I was going to be going to Disney this year so it would have been a waste.

However, I just signed on to start in a new firm on June 1st and I''m putting in for my last day as May 15th, giving me 2 weeks to play with for a vacation.

I usually book a room with a 30% or 40% off promotion in a deluxe villa for being an annual pass holder. But since my pass is expired, I can't see what the current promotion is. And before I call up and renew my annual pass, I wanted to see if the discount they're giving is worth it to pay the $400 or whatever it is for the annual pass with the DVC discount. Can someone fill me in?

If the discount isn't worth it, I may just take the wife to the Caribbean for a few days. We'll see. Please let me know if you can.

Not sure where you want to book, but a studio at BLT is $475, a studio at OKW is $231, a 1 bedroom (no studios showing available) at BCV is $537, all per night with the Passholder discount. I don't know how those rates compare to rack rates and the rates I quoted do not include taxes.

The AP special for May is broken up by Memorial day weekend, no discounts from the 24 - 27th.

Dates 16th thru 23rd Only 3 being listed as available.
OKW Studio and SSR is $1,817
GF Outer Bldg Garden is $3,067

It's a bit pricier than I remember. I wanted May 14-24th.

I'm trying to see what the best course of action will be. The Mrs. family are using ALL of their DVC points for a month long saga in July, but unfortunately, I'll be starting a new job, so I won't be able to venture,unless maybe for a weekend. So with out DVC points, I have to figure out the cheapest way to get out to WDW lol.

When we bought our APs a couple of months ago I remember the CM telling us that we had to renew within 30 days of the expiration date to get the discount. However, there may be different rules for the DVC pass that the OP has.
