My husband and I both just got annual passes on our recent trip last week. We will be going for a week in June with my parents (who do not have AP's).

I am trying to figure out the best way to go about dining together and maximizing the discount with the AP. It would be easiest for our group to split the check when we dine together at table service meals. However, I'd like to be able to use the discount for my parents meals too.

What is the best way to go about that? Just have one check and use the AP and then have my parents reimburse us? Or can we apply the discount if we split the checks?

Also, does the AP discount apply to alcohol? My husband and I aren't big drinkers, but my dad likes to have a beer at dinner.

The AP holder must be the one that pays to get the discount. I've heard of people buying gift cards up front and then using them to pay the other parties' part of the bill.
Since DH has an AP, and if your parents are paying cash, ask for two bills and you each pay one w/ the discount. Or they can pay you later after.

AP discount does NOT apply to alcohol.

Ok that's what I figured. Thank you!

Can you split a bill and still get the AP discount? I know you cannot with TIW, didn't know if AP was different. We have alway paid for the group and then settled up later.

You and your husband both have AP. Couldn't your husband pay for your bill and you use your AP and pay for parent's and they just give the money back or use gift cards. That way you don't have to worry about adding things up.

If you're staying at a Disney resort, I've found the easiest way is to charge to your room and then your parents could apply some of the charges on your folio to their credit card at the front desk.
