 I am a preferred annual pass holder and tried to reserve a room at Royal Pacific for Aug. 17,18 & 19 (25 year anniversary).
We have a small dog and I requested a room in Tower 2, floor 1 that we have stayed in many times. This room has 2 queen beds.
When I called yesterday (twice) I was told that I could not reserve thru the front desk and that I could only reserve a room at discount that had a king bed.
We like the room we used to reserve because it is close to the dog park to take the dog out and to go out and smoke. It is also quite at the end of the hall.
Anyone know why they are not giving the discount on rooms with 2 queens?
The reservation line had no clue and the one person I talked with was so confused and could not understand anything I was telling her (which motel, got my name wrong after spelling it for her twice, I kept telling her Royal Pacific and she kept asking which motel ), that finally I hung up and called back later to talk to another person. They said check back later.
We have stayed at Royal Pacific dozens of times over the years and just want to know why we can't get a discount for queen rooms.
I guess this all sounds silly but when you are spending a lot on a room in the first place it is just nice to get an honest answer.

The discounts for that room are sold out. They only discount a certain number of rooms. Perhaps if you would have booked earlier, you would have gotten what you wanted.

You can check availability here. The code for annual pass discounts is APH.

What Damo said...although I must say that I am glad you posted. We are going back next summer, and are bringing our German Shepherd with us. I am going to make sure I book it early with my AP! Is there a problem booking a King room? Isn't it just the two of you?

thanks everyone. Didn't realize that all the queen rooms may be taken. Usually
it is very empty at that time but then again that was before Harry Potter.
I guess I better reserve now, Thanks. Kbale

Yes but the Chihuahua likes 2155 because it is close to the dog park and she can look out the window. (I know, that's kinda silly) it is a very short walk though to go outside with her smoke since the rooms are non-smoking. It is also quiet at the end of the hall. Thanks

that is not silly at all.

when you find a room that you truly enjoy, you want to return to it.
many returning guests ask for the same room all the time.

hopefully you can get a room booked that is near that same area you like.

Ya know...when you get there...Ask! See if they will allow you to move to that room. I am glad I now know a end of the hall room number. I would rather have our GS at the end of the hall. People tend to shy away from him even though he is really a sweet dog!
