I searched but couldn't find the answer.

I'm not sure how far the dining discount extends if you have an annual pass. Let's say I have a AP, but no one else in my family does. We are all together at a WDW dining location that accepts AP dining discounts. Am I the only one that gets the discount, or can I apply it to the entire party? If it's not just for me, how many can be included in the discount at a meal?

I have the same question for the Tables in Wonderland card.

Thanks,
Dan

Like the pp said you get the discount on the entire bill (table or quick service) and IME you have to be the one to pay. Be prepared to have your AP card and ID to prove your eligible.

Thank you.

Reason I'm asking, we hope to be back at WDW in Aug next year, and I think my parents may come along so we would have 7 total at each meal. So if one of us purchased an annual pass, as long at that person pays for the entire bill for each meal, the discount applies to all? hmm... this is going to make me run the numbers.... We spent around $2000 last August on food alone, out of pocket, just with our family of 5.

Also, is there a certain level of annual pass that I need to have in order to have access to purchasing the TIW card? I couldn't find that answer either.

Officially, the AP discount is valid for you plus 3 people.

Officially, the AP discount is valid for you plus 3 people.

1) Sometimes the SERVER will stretch the discount to more guests, but frequently they will not (higher checks = higher tips).
2) Also, if they see others paying you for their discounted meal, they can cancel the discount for the entire table, including you (the rules are plain on this).

It's off your bill, so applicable to the entire meal. This goes for TiW too.

ETA: We had six in our party last time. Three were AP holders, but only one person was required to show AP to get the discount.

Not correct.
TIW is valid for the card holder and 9 additional folks, for a total of 10. The card holder must be present and must pay.

Thanks @Hopefully. They never enforced this in all the times we used the discount, although we would have had enough AP holders to cover the entire bill!

Supersnoop and Hopefully are correct.

From the AP page of the DW website (scroll all the way down to almost the bottom of the page:
Unless otherwise stated, discount excludes alcoholic beverages, applicable tax and gratuity, and is valid for the Passholder and up to three (3) Guests. Dining hours vary by location; inquire at time of booking. Locations and operating hours subject to change without notice.

From the TiW page on the DW website:
NOTE: The Tables in Wonderland discount is good for up to 10 people including the member, as long as everyone is on the same check, and the Tables in Wonderland member is paying the bill.

Play with the numbers to see how it works out. For us, we used the AP and TIW cards. And we saved a lot of money with both.
The pp showed the exact rules. Do some servers stretch them - yes. Do they need to, no.
The main difference is you have to pay extra for TIW card, but it also includes ALL alcohol (including what you purchase at lounges without food) and includes an 18% tip added to the bill.

Officially, pp is right the AP discount is for a total of 4 people. In practice, for our family of 5 we have always receive it on the whole bill. I'm guessing it may be more of an issue if it were all adults or even larger parties, but I would anticipate the rule being enforced and just be pleasantly surprised if it's not.

TiW covers up to 10 people but you pay for it so you have to figure out if it's worth it depending on how much you will use it.

Well, I ran the numbers and the AP doesn’t save us money (unless we visit Disney twice within 12 months which we’ve never done).

Based on how we eat at Disney, the 10% AP dining discount would save us about $153 for a 9 night trip. The 20% TIW discount would double that to $306.

We plan to visit for 9 nights, and the cost of a 9 day base ticket (which is what we plan to purchase) is $458. A platinum AP is $830. That is an additional cost of $372 versus a base ticket. If we purchased a TIW card too, that is another $150, or a total cost of $522 above a base 9 day ticket. Neither one saves us enough in dining discounts to make up for the added cost.

We stay onsite so the AP free parking does nothing for us. We don’t park hop, so the AP park hopping does nothing for us. At best, we might use it once or twice in a 9 night stay. The free photopass photos would be nice, but we didn’t purchase photopass last year and didn’t miss it.

We had eleven of us at Chef Mickey's for breakfast a few years ago. We had one TIW card, so ten meals were discounted and one was not.
