Did I see a thread on this or have I gone mad? I tried to search but couldn't see anything but when I rang reservations they said only 90 days for pass holders although I can book rooms with tickets online for the dates I want.

This makes it really difficult to plan a trip when 50% of the group have passes and 50% don't.

Do you think if I buy the package room now and the flights for all of us I'll have any issues getting a room only at a later point?

I think, booking just as your 90 days in advance comes up, you would get a room only booking.

I understand your frustration though - I've had to do the same thing. My sisters family (non-AP holders) booked their October package in April. I can't book our room only until next week, although our flights have been booked and paid for since April.

I'm sure it was Orion33 who said she'd been told you could no longer book room-only with an AP more than 90 days in advance. So no, you're not going mad - you have seen it here :lmao: !

When did this change?

I booked our room for 31st October back in January :confused3

I think it was posted as a recent change since we similary booked early. October last year for our trip this July :)

I wonder why they changed the policy... kind of messes up any planning AP holders might wish to do.

I was looking at Christmas this morning, Eurostar prices seem reasonable at the moment, but it won't be so great if we can't book room only this far in advance (or at least check the prices). It kind of pushes us off towards the off site hotels :sad2:

I think it treats you a bit like 2nd class guests. To me I have invested in a pass because I want to make multiple return visits. Are they saying that a package guest is allowed more choice on the dates they come? It should be the same rule for all. Am going to try the Shareholder number tomorrow and see what they say.

Not True-I got my booking for December through finally with AP discount included (this is after my palava where i was promised if I put a deposit down before AP prices were released then they would change the cost accordingly when AP prices were released...then I spoke to someone else a couple of days later who said this wasn't allowed and I wouldn;t get my discount so I complained a lot.....)

Anyway I got through my ammended confirmation today of my booking for Dec 31st for 4 nights with AP discount

Spoke to Disney today, to enquire about a Christmas booking. I was told you can't book until 90 days before, but the CM was able to give me discounted prices, this at least helped me to decide that we would have to resort to staying off site - £432 for 2 nights in the SL just seemed too steep to me! I asked why they had brought in this policy, and the CM thought it was to keep in line with the other Disney Parks.

The plus side is that I was able to book our Halloween tickets at the discounted rate of £10 each (we have Dream passes).

Not sure what to do about Christmas  Best I've managed so far is £200 for Eurostar seats, or flights from Southampton for £140 (then you have to get from CDG to the park!), and cheapest hotel room has been about £100 a night :headache: (This is for myself and DD - i.e. two adults)

When are you looking at going Annette? The same time as last year? I would go with Eurostar because by the time you've added transfers it will be approx the same price and then you have the hassle and added time to add on as well

I'm not sure we are going yet! :lmao:

But I was looking at 26th - 29th December or thereabouts, and I agree with you, but DD seems to prefer the idea of flying (not that we've actually tried that yet, we're flying in October for the first time).

I was just thinking it would be nice to use our APs one last time before they expire at the beginning of April, I had hoped it would be possible to do a cheapish trip, maybe in March, being as DD was leaving school this year. Now she's gone and found herself a job that will not allow her to take time off in term time! So that leaves Christmas or February half term as possibilities. I can't get Christmas down any lower than £500 for travel and accommodation, and I'm even more put off by the Euro rate too.

Maybe I just have to accept that Halloween might be our last visit for a while?

Could you go after New Year for a few days - quite a few people here on the board seem to have got good deals in very early Jan whilst all the Christmas stuff is still up.
It depends when your DD needs to be back in work after Christmas - congratulations on her job by the way

Thanks for the congratulations, all off her own back too I might add! I guess there is always the chance she might not stick at the job...

Term starts back on 5th January, which doesn't give us much time, as they don't break up until 19th December (seems to be a short break this year).
