Annual Pass and UPH - mix and match?

When staying at BCV later this week, can we get the 10% discount on the UPH for some of our party, and purchase an AP for others? We are taking some family along who wont be returning as often as us, but I thought I read somewhere that the entire group had to purchase the UPH passes to get the discount at check in.

You can get UPH (with the 10% discount) for those who don't have AP's. You will have to buy the AP's at TDS or any park (not available at the resort), but you may certainly buy the UPH only for those who don't have the AP's.
