Not sure if this is place or not. So please feel free to move.
First time using my annual pass and staying
Offsite. How do I use my annual for free parking?

Thanks

Show the AP at the parking gates.

Either show your AP or the card that came with your AP holder magic bands at the parking gate. They may or may not ask for your ID. We've gone on a few trips this year with APs, and some attendants want to see proof of ID and some wave you through.

We were asked for ID all but two of the times on our last trip. After the first couple of times it just became easier to have my ID out and ready to show. Some CMs scanned the card to make sure it was valid, but some did not. Either way it took just a minute and we were on our way.

At our last trip over Memorial Day, I just showed the card that came with the MagicBands and had my ID behind that. One Cast Member even said she appreciated me having the photo ID out.

Of course, the husband, who was driving, made sure we always had a right side attendant. :)

We just ahve them scan the magic bands. They either just wave us through because they don't want to mess with their scanner or they scan the band and I have not been asked for ID with the band at all. I always showed my license with the card before the band.

What happens if the AP holder is a teen without a drivers license/Id? Will they still accept it?

We have 5 APs but mine and dh's will expire before the kids. Since I paid the same price for the kids' passes, I hope we still get the same benefits!

Yes, kids get parking privileges. They won't ask for ID.

So, does this mean that when you get your magic bands your AP is on it even if you haven't activated it yet? We'll get our magic bands with a voucher. So the first time we go through the parking gate we would still have a "voucher" technically. Do you still have to take your voucher to Guest Services to activate or is your plastic card/magic band just automatically activated when you use it? Would like to save that trip to GS if not necessary. Thanks.

It doesn't go on your band. Nothing is stored on the band except it's id number. The AP goes to your account and when the band is scanned it pulls your account up and the scanner recongnizes the activated AP there. I think you will still have to bring your voucher to do the actuall activation. (I got my AP in the park so it was activated at purchase)
