Annual Pass Activtion Question...

Hi! We bought annual passes but have not activated them yet. We are going on Sept. 20. We plan on leaving the bay area (near San Jose) around noon. It should be about a six hour drive....(we will be hitting LA in rush hour traffic though..so who knows?)

Here is my question...does the ticket office close one hour BEFORE the park closes? (I called guest services...one person said one hour AFTER close and one said one hour before...) Do you think it would be possible to get the annual passes and go into DCA, guess we have to get our pics on the pass immediately....then just go look at Carsland at dusk? Or, am I really trying to do too much?

Otherwise, what time does the booth open in the morning? And, do all the annual pass owners have to be there? Or, can I pick the passes up and give them to my family before they enter while they stand in line? (no line debates please I can always go to the back and they can get in...)

Honestly, I would see how you are feeling on your travel day and wouldn't kill yourselves just to get in the parks late on that day. I think you may run into traffic and you will just stress yourself out.

If you have the vouchers, you do not need to visit the ticket booths first thing if you don't want to. You can head directly to the turnstiles the next morning and you will receive a temporary ticket. Anytime during that first day, you can visit a ticket booth and convert the temporary ticket to your permanent pass. Then you will need to visit the parks soon afterwards to take a picture to be added to your pass. So, you don't have to worry about getting there early in the morning, just go to the turnstiles and visit the ticket booths later in the day after the lines die down and you aren't trying to get a RSR FP!

I am not 100% sure of the ticket booth hours, but I am almost positive they don't close an hour before park opening. Walking by, there seems to be at least one booth open at park closing, usually over by the Harbor Blvd side. But at any rate, if it were me I would just head over to the turnstiles in the morning and take care of the annual pass thing later in the day.

Each person who will be getting an AP must be present at the ticket booth to sign the AP form with all your information. You are acknowledging the terms.

We converted our vouchers to AP's in August and had to do this.

My 6 year old daugher had to sign her own AP.

You will definitely hit traffic leaving at noon, rush hour in LA from 3-8. LOL So know that and plan to be in the car an extra hour or so.

That said, DD and I went and activated our APs at 9:30 PM, took us about 30 minutes and then we went in and wandered BVS and then went to CL. It was great!! 2 hours was the perfect amount of time. We rode Mater's ride and just walked and looked.
