Hi

Has anybody used Insurance4 car hire instead of taking out the insurance with the car hire companies?
Has anybody used something similar?
If so which one did you take out as there seems to be 2 possilbe policies.

Did you have any problems when using it?

Thanks

Thanks Wayne:)

I can never get the search function to work on here.

Used it 4 times last year with both dollar and alamo and never had any problems, even used it with a virgin holiday "free" car

Gavvy, that is what we were thinking of using it for. We have a 'free' car for the duration and thought it would be worth getting.

Which one did you buy? Thanks.

I'd like to know the answer to this too - wondering if it will save me having to pay the extortionate amount Virgin want for Platinum insurance :scared1:

Used it with Alamo and Dollar, in the US and Europe carhire in Italy and Fuerteventura with no problems (obviously separate policies ;) ) :thumbsup2

I just bought the US/Canada policy :goodvibes

Hi there,

We purchased an annual policy from them last march and used it without any problems with dollar in orlando and again earlier this year again with dollor in california.

Its great and sooo much cheaper. Go for it and save yourself a bundle!!!!:cool1:

Maybe worth searching the posts alison has made i the past as It was on her advice I got the policy.

with the Virgin "Free" car I took the basic car from virgin told them I had my own insurance at the Dollar desk, no problems at all, I ended up upgrading to a SUV for $9 a day.

Remember you will have to pay taxes and gas at the desk, depending on the car around $60-$70 for tax and the cost of Gas.

Ignore the so called "threat" that they will block your credit card with $2000 or something silly, it never happens, and Ignore Virgin who will tell you dollar only accept their own insuanc, its not up to them what insurance you take.
