We had a 6:30am wake up call from Mickey, what a great way to start the day! Today was early entry for the MK, so we wanted to be at the park by 8a. DH was going on the Keys to the Kingdom tour, he had to check in by 8:15a. We had a quick breakfast at the Food & Fun Center, then ran the mugs back to the room before heading back to the monorail and off the to MK. We dropped DH off at the tour area, then headed over to Buzz Lightyear. My DD & DS begged me to do Alien Encounter with them, I was a bit hesitant as I thought my son would be scared. HAH! This kid is afraid of nothing. He loved it. I had done it before, so I knew what to expect. We walked onto Buzz Lightyear & Space Mountain after that, no waiting at all. The first small line we encountered was at the Raceway, it took us approx. 10 minutes to get into our cars. I was amazed that there were no lines for Peter Pan or Snow White, we walked onto these rides! We were over by the Hanted Mansion by 11:30am, we went on this a few times with no wait. We were thrilled!

The park didn't seem crowded until later afternoon, and with fastpass for Splash Mountain & BTMRR we didn't have any major waits. I can't tell you the number of mad looks we got walking onto Splash Mountain with our fast passes though, I don't think people understand the system? I had a few ask me what they needed to be in the "fast lane", I told them how to get the passes but they still looked confused?! I hope they were able to figure it out eventually, it really saved us a lot of time in the 4 days we were at the parks.

We met up with hubby around 2p, he was thrilled with his tour! He spent the rest of the day looking for hidden Mickey's & telling me all the things he had learned from the guide. He said on our next visit, he wants to do the 3 park tour...woohoo! Anytime he talks about our "next visit" I am thrilled! He picked up a couple of pins, after getting his tour pin he was ready to start his own lanyard. He is a full time Firefighter, so he found some great pins to get started with. Now instead of complaining when DD & I wanted to check out pins, he was the first to go over & start looking. A few times at the hotel, he would wander off & I would find him up on the 4th floor with a couple new pins for he or the kids. Heeheehee, this couldn't have worked out better!!

We were back at the hotel around 6p & went in the pool for a couple of hours. We headed over to the Fort Wilderness again around 8p, this time we had dinner at the Trails End Buffet. EXCELLENT!! The prices were great for all the food, we were all so full that we were afraid we would sink the boat on the way back. The return boat went to the Wildnerness Lodge first, taking us right by the Electrical Water Pageant. What a wonderful way to see it. I had goosebumps when the "floats" turned into flags & we heard the music. We stayed outside our hotel to see it again, it came by the Contemporary around 10:05pm.

Another wonderful day!! We were going to try to see the Fireworks over the castle (at the 15th floor lookout spot), but were too tired to stay up.

pageant......never ever seen it.....even after 15 visits....thanks so much for your report.....

Hey! I am so thrilled about your DH's new found excitement. For our next trip, I am looking in to other things he can do that will make him want to come back again and again. We went in Dec of 2002 and he said not again until 2004 and I am about to die to go this year! Also, what is the Alien ride like? We have never ventured it. Thanks-- oh, we also stayed at the CR w/SOG w/my dad who is retired military. We were in the North Garden wing and had gotten a room that faced the playgroung -- it was great!! The new SOG looks to be beautiful!

Dutton, Alien Encounter is not really a ride, it's an experience. In a nutshell, you are seated in the round (strapped in with shoulder restraints). By accident a carnivorious alien gets into the room with you. You do not move, but you do feel the alien. It's mostly special effects and frightening because of what your imagination does. It's very intense and definitely not for young ones (you are restrained so that you can feel the special effects not because of movement).

Annie&Hallie'sMom gave a good description of the show, definitely scary! I wouldn't have let my DD attempt it when she was as young as my DS (7), but my DS is a different story. He had heard all about it from his cousins and couldn't wait to see it. Nothing scares this kid! He did say afterwards that if he hadn't known what to expect, that he may not have liked it as well ;) .

Trails End Buffet is one of the best Disney dining experiences on property. Good food, nice setting and GREAT price. Glad you found it and enjoyed it.

Off to read Day 3...
